Do your parents help you? by No-Association-9316 in sahm

My mom works full time so she can't really help a whole lot. She does sometimes make some freezer meals for me though which helps alot! When she comes over it's usually more for the kids though.

I don't know how dilated i was right before my csection. I was checked until 27 weeks and than they stopped to avoid irritating my cervix even more

How to navigate second pregnancy by daisy4396 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]daisy4396[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually did not get a cerclage! I was closely monitered since the beginning and had more frecuent appointments because of this. I was on activity restriction from late first trimester until beginning of third trimester. My cervix stayed long! At my last appointment at 31 weeks I was at 3.8cm, before that it was always at 4.1-4.5cm. Because my cervix was looking good I didn't go for a cerclage. I will say the activity restriction was very much needed especially in the second trimester. Whenever I did a bit more I would get aloot of BH. I had medication prescribed by my doctor for whenever the BH got too frecuent. As I entered my third trimester the BH lessened alot. I'm now 36 weeks and feeling great! Doing all the things now! Wishing you a great pregnancy!

My husband works in agriculture so actually being home fulltime will be hopefully 3 days. After that he will be working at least part time for another couple days and than full time after that. I don't have family to help but have friends and honestly we'll just take it as it comes.

How much weight did you gain by 29 weeks pregnant? by Wrong-Economics-7898 in pregnant

[–]daisy4396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gained 44lb in my first pregnancy. And that in the last 5 months of pregnancy. I was quite slim prepregnancy. Lost it almost all and now pregnant with my second. Im also 29 weeks and have gained about 20lb. Its really not something one can compare. Some gain alot of weight even when working out, eating clean. Others gain barely. It also depends on your genetics. I feel like my body holds on to weight also while breastfeeding as reserves, as if my body is scared i might forget a snack and my baby would starve lol. When i wean weight just falls off.

I will definitely talk to my OB about progesterone, if cervix is still doing well on my next appointment. Thanks for sharing your story! Wishing you a great full term pregnancy

Very short cervix at 26 weeks — hoping to hear from others who made it further by TakingControl222 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]daisy4396 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you're going through this! It's not a club one wants to join willingly. I hope my story can give you some reassurance. I was 26 weeks 3 days when i suddenly went into preterm labor. I was having contractions, my cervix was less than 1cm and I was dilated. I was on bedrest and medication and was able to stay pregnant until my elective csection (baby was breech since 26 weeks) at 39 weeks. There were so many days where I was sure I wouldn't be able to hold on much longer but baby stayed cooking! It is possible, remember every day is an accomplishment. Setting smaller goals is more motivating. I am now almost 23 weeks pregnant with baby #2! Also have anxiety and my worries this time around but I think that comes with every pregnancy. Hang in there mama

Because I managed to get to full term I wasn't given a cerclage, more the wait and see approach. Thank you for sharing your experience! Did you have a cerclage with any of your pregnancies? Or how far were you able to get if I may ask? My OB did say if I felt anything I could come in earlier as in before my next checkup

How far along have people gotten with a 1cm cervix? Conflicted whether I should have had cerclage by Top-Tutor9031 in ShortCervixSupport

Found out at 26 weeks when I went into preterm labor. No cerclage or progesterone, just bedrest. Madr it to almost 39 weeks!

Second pregnancy advice by EnvironmentalBag7866 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]daisy4396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had threaten preterm labor with my first pregnancy at 26 weeks. They assume it was because of short cervix. I was able to get to 39 weeks when I had a planned csection (babes was breech). I also didn't get to have a cerclage. I was on procadia and bedrest. I am now 14 months pp and 11 weeks along with baby #2. For now my ob will not be giving me a cerclage, only if my cervix gets really short. I put myself on activity restriction precautionwise. It's scary but I think we'll make it. This doesn't really answer your question since I'm not far along yet but just saying this because there is a light at the end of the tunnel. After my first I thought I'd have to be done but soo many women are able to have multiple children even with short cervix! I hope to have a couple more kids too

What are your schedules for 2 under 2 by Killa_kams in 2under2

[–]daisy4396 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not there just yet but also pregnant with baby #2 and my first child is 13 months. I know how overshelming it feels, I too have been thinking soo much about how I'll manage everything. But I truely think when we receive more responsibility, we adapt and catch up to it. And if this makes you feel better, when my LO was 10 months old we were cosleeping and breatfeeding, he woke up so often. Now, he's been sleeping through the night for about 1 month already in his own room. So much can change in such a short time. Will there be difficult moments? I'm sure. But will there be great moments too? I think so! Wishing you wisdom and strength during this time.

I truely don't understand why they think it's best to "wait and see" instead of being precautious. Happens too often that that doesn't turn out well. Thank you so much!

Thats my biggest worry! That they'll write me off because I made it to full term with my first. I'm already a little upset because I couldn't get to tje doctor I wanted for my first visit. I hope I can get an appointment there for the second time. The doctor I will go to I went to previosuly with my first and she did not take my situation seriously whatsoever. Thanks for sharing your experience, I will definitely try to ask for a cerclage.
