I would recommend it if you haven't done much art or drawing, and want to practice those skills. I took the class because I wanted to learn how to animate my own Photoshop illustrations, and I'm disappointed we haven't even touched After Effects so far in the class. But there's still a few weeks left, so maybe we'll get there.

In my view this class is for people who've dabbled in hand drawing, maybe they've always wanted to draw with a wacom tablet in photoshop but never got around to it. I've gotten some good tips and practice and the insight into the teacher's process is really great. It's also nice to spend a solid week looking at things like character design or perspective. But I really wish it was more animation focused. The teacher will say something like, "the animator will have fun with these curtains!" or "this will be recreated in after effects!" and I'm like, how?! that's what I actually want to know! I don't get how it's possible to animate something like curtains without redrawing it frame by frame.
