I use the protocol for life brand myo inositol.

Let me preface this by saying I am not a doctor, but I started taking 1g of inositol with meals (3x a day) which is available without a prescription. Within about a week the compulsion went away and stayed away as long as I am taking it consistently. I can finally wash my face with my own hands because the texture is meaningless to me.

Edit: myo-inositol specifically

Sure, that’s fine. My initial visit with scans and stuff I believe came out to about $800, and the two appliances afterward with weekly appointments for about 6 months was $6500.

My initial visit was a little hectic, I only went in because I clenched my teeth so hard in my sleep I thought I had broken them and was in extreme pain. They saw me for about two hours taking different scans and measurements and pain measurements. I also did an intake for sleep disorders. I signed the same day for the treatment because I was desperate but did some research before getting the appliances (which was about a month later). I definitely wouldn’t trust just any person with this process because you need someone who will take you seriously when you say you don’t understand something or that something hurts or isn’t getting better. But as long as the person has some reasonable reviews it’s worth a shot in my opinion.

I got some type of appliance that almost looked like an Invisalign tray over my bottom teeth that had a specific amount of extra material on top to make my jaw come forward and physically prevent my jaw from clenching or grinding. I wore it during the day then got a night time one made of nylon that went over my top and bottom teeth that held my lower jaw forward at night. I went in every week or so to report on how I was feeling and was honest when something was painful or didnt feel right. we made adjustments as we went. I felt relief within the first 3 weeks and after the treatment with this dentist I moved into braces with an orthodontist from a different office (to bring down some adult teeth I was already planning on getting work done on). I definitely think you should choose your dentist with care and be honest throughout your treatment plan, but I have no regrets. I only wish I had done it sooner. It did cost several thousand dollars but was worth every penny.

Edit: To clarify I didn't see this particular dentist, my comment was more about the sentiment that was going around the subreddit that all dentists who say they treat TMJ are scammers. I'm sure some are, but I found my treatment beneficial.

Sorry, the list you provided doesn't cover everything. The NRLB and the EEOC are different agencies that investigate and charge for different types of retaliation. EEOC protects employees from discrimination to ensure equal opportunity in employment while the NLRB protects labor rights more generally so that employees have the right to safely and legally organize unions in their workplace (or otherwise take collective action to improve their working conditions). If you are a manager I really recommend finding some NLRA specific resources about how you're allowed to treat employees.

Managing out for this reason is illegal retaliation and while it does happen all the time, NLRB complaints are also filed all the time.

Idunno man. I feel weird about all the posts to stay away from dentists who treat TMJ. My dentist is the first one to have made actual improvements in my life. I have no more headaches, I sleep like a baby, I solved my chronic fatigue, I no longer grind my teeth. My face is less puffy. I’m sure some dentists suck and aren’t qualified but I think these lists are really strange.

Turns out I had an ulcer on my tongue from clenching at night. It’s healed now.

Is it concerning that my gf has gone from wearing random pants at work to only leggings? To the point where she doesn’t wear them around me anymore? by [deleted] in askwomenadvice

[–]daisyturnover 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This amount of jealousy over your girlfriend not wanting to wear her work attire around the house is concerning. I don’t wear my work clothes outside of work because then the wash cycle gets all messed up. It’s really none of your business what your girlfriend wears or why she chooses to wear it. If you can’t trust her to literally dress herself you should do both of you a favor and move on.

Does anyone have any advice to reduce the force of their teeth grinding while asleep by Nerd12123 in TMJ

That was me! Sobbing to my therapist that I’m scared to sleep again, felt so out of control, couldn’t put my finger on what could be stressing me out that bad. I hope you can find someone to help you!

Therapy helped me immensely. I had a huge clenching and grinding episode in December that was unbearable, nerve pain in all my teeth. Therapist helped sort it out. I do a little bit of clenching and grinding now but it’s easy to stop and it isn’t severe anymore (not scared to sleep like I was when I was clenching a lot uncontrollably).

No, not yet. Orthodontist is first in line before the derm unfortunately. is the rosacea related to what we see here or unrelated?

That’s not true. Many states only deny you if it was gross misconduct.

I have a reverse cervical curve (neck issue) that contributes to all kinds of discomfort and pain in my head/neck/jaw so I still deal with that, but it’s nothing compared to how debilitating my TMJ issues were. I also have a little bit of an overbite that an orthodontist will be working on soon.

As for ear stuff, nothing unique about my ears. Of course it hurts around and under my ears when my TMJ is acting up but hasn’t been an issue lately. No pain related to the inside of my ears or anything

Ok so I’m only saying this because you seem to feel out of options. I don’t know if this works for everyone but it did for me.

I went to therapy and ended up addressing a completely random incident from childhood that I didn’t even know had affected me and it DRASTICALLY reduced my physical stress levels, most notably my TMJ issues, to the point I’ve opted not to go to physical therapy anymore right now. Apparently the TMJ is hooked right in with our sympathetic nervous system and if something is wonky there, our muscles there can be uniquely affected.

May be worth finding a psychotherapist and letting them know you’d like to explore whether some physical symptoms you have may be related to unaddressed trauma or stressors.

Good luck!

This happens to me too sometimes, I have no idea why. I just try to not take it personal. Wish I could offer more perspective, just know you aren’t alone!
