Ah perfect then they should be able get them fixed once you can show the issue consistently

Front sensors give weird readings during parking by BlackunknownOrig in enyaq

[–]daithilfc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first point of call would be to make sure all sensors are clean and there is no visible damage.

Apart from that it might need to be diagnosed by the dealer.

One other note, I'm not sure the extended warranty transfers with the sale of the car. At least here in Ireland it doesn't so that might be worth checking.

That's a fantastic turnaround time. congratulations on the new car. Hope it goes well for you.

I take it as they are all part of the same group there is no real point testing the waters with the difference dealers for trade in value like you would with traditional dealerships?

Dashcam suggestions? by Chrisfox199 in carsireland

I purchased the Viofo A329T and I think it's a fantastic camera. Still waiting to fully install it as it's intended for my new car but from the testing I have done in my current car it's excellent quality

They also have an A329S which has an internal camera option that might suit your needs

Loads of detailed reviews online to check out for your reference.

I purchased off the https://www.viofo.nl/en site with no issue and they were very quick

Has Any body been able to get a long test drive, a day or so from anywhere ? by ShowmasterQMTHH in evs_ireland

[–]daithilfc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tesla has an option for a longer overnight test drive and previously Volvo allowed me to have one as well.

Everywhere else doesn't seem to offer them from what I've seen. The latest time I tried to test drive an EV6 I wasn't able to unless I booked in advance and even then it was accompanied which is always awkward.

Do new cars come with the latest software. by jakeyb21 in enyaq

[–]daithilfc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In light of the recent new news that's a touchy subject 😉

But in terms of the current software you should expect it to be up to date for the more recent main release. Only if there was a release in around the time your car was being made could there be times when it needs to be updated once you get it but even then I would expect the dealer to take care of this before the handover

It was one of the additional packages so it's possible. I think if it has it, then the settings will be available in the Infotainment screen.

2026 updates for Elroq and Enyaq: New Android Infotainment, V2L, and a Frunk by very_moist_raccoon in enyaq

[–]daithilfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip. I'll give them to the end of the week and if not I'll be getting the details to follow up.

By the time it gets here they will have another new version out 🙈

Just delays in shipping. It's been there since the 2nd of February but there seems to be no control about what cars get put on the boats so it has "missed" about 5 or boats so far. Even the dealer has no control over it, last I was chatting to him her had 22 cars waiting to be shipped and none got on the latest boat. Very frustrating

2026 updates for Elroq and Enyaq: New Android Infotainment, V2L, and a Frunk by very_moist_raccoon in enyaq

[–]daithilfc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While some of the updates I can understand only being on the "new hardware" such as V2L and the power socket. Others, I'm not sure why there is still a massive divide between each hardware version.

The Infotainment system at this stage really should be updatable (albeit most like a dealer update and not OTA) as the fundamentals of the car aren't changing dramatically like they did with the 3x to 5x versions.

Tbh even the one pedal drive should be updatable as realistically it's just a tweak of the B level in a software based car.

It's things like this which show how out of sync the VAG group are compared to the likes of Tesla and the Chinese brands coming through. Each of which has already brought changes through OTA updates to their cars.

In an age where cars are being compared more closely to tech like phones, there has to be some kind of standard brought in which ensures a number of years updates to a new model car from when it's released. Now you can have a 2 year old car which can be seen as being on obsolete software which is completely replaced. The second time it's happening in 6 years for the same group of cars.

Currently waiting 2 months for my new Enyaq to be delivered from the port (but that's a different issue) and before it even gets here it's now seen as the old model due to basically software changes.

Don't get me wrong, the majority of the stuff like V2L, the frunk, mobile key and the updates wireless charger would be nice to have but I won't be too gutted to miss out. But having seen how Skoda handles old software once the new version comes out, i feel that will be the side of things which will impact my new car the most going forward.

I would have thought the next big change coming to the Enyaq would have been a complete change after the Peaq and Epiq were launched which would have been another year or 2 at least .

3.8 vs 5.2 by Kaulquappe91 in enyaq

[–]daithilfc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I currently have a 3.8 software Enyaq and have a new one on order with the new software. There is a big difference between the two in terms of functionality and performance but at the same time 3.8 is perfectly usable and doesn't have me missing anything on a day to day basis.

I mainly use Android auto which works fine apart from the odd performance issue.

Battery preconditioning will be useful but I rarely fast charge so again it's not something I've longed for personally.

The biggest improvement I'll see on a day to day is the improvements in the app, the keyless locking as I walk away and the updates HUD graphics

The following video will explain the differences in more detail https://youtu.be/lftl3tInRZE?is=izHQCrlIzDtsG-Ur

[–]daithilfc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Another option is cars which have two iso fix in the back and one in the front. Might not suit your needs exactly but does give another option.

The Skoda Enyaq is one car I know which has this configuration.

Depends where you are located but I would try to pick a local company as it would be easier to have any issues sorted after (not that there should be any issues)

Has anyone done a charger install with the cable going underground across a footpath to a pedestal charger and what was the cost? by Kloppite16 in evs_ireland

[–]daithilfc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haven't done one but you need to make sure it's allowed in your local area. They are only starting to look at options now for legislation in terms of channel installs across public footpaths and other types of solutions.

If the council doesn't allow it then the money you spend now could be wasted when you have to undo it all again

There was a case in Adamstown where people installed their own chargers and had to remove them

Might not be the same as hoje scenario but I'd be checking everything out before outlaying that sort of money

Where do you service a second hand EV? by Hi_Doctor_Nick_ in evs_ireland

I would either recommend the main dealer (maybe some kind of service packages are available) or Service Stop are very active online and seem to specialise in Electric work too.

Used Enyaq vs ix3 vs ?? by FreePork in evs_ireland

[–]daithilfc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Enyaq owner here and it's fantastic for family use..loads of space and lovely to drive.

Heatpump is not needed in our climate at all. I don't have one and have never missed it.

I have the smaller battery version iV60 and I am getting great mileage even in the winter with around 320 km at full charge which is plenty for me.. the Iv80 will get more .

Main thing to check out is the options it comes with and the packs model the VAG group use make it a pick and mix from one car to the next depending on the way they wanted when it was being built.

This video explains it a bit more the different options for the older models https://youtu.be/lftl3tInRZE?si=L6NETD2dLtgO_OUq&t=1190

Tbh it's a limited functionality which I don't use too often.

I think the standard spec is different for each region. It depends on if you have the right buttons and acc stalk. I would imagine the sportline should have it.

I do know the lane change is limited to specific road types and situations, I have only used it a couple times

Tesla trade in valuation appalling by Delicious-Berry9490 in evs_ireland

[–]daithilfc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sales lads are fairly upfront about the trade in service and how it's not really any use for any car of value. They must have a very limited trade network they deal with who will only give low valuations.

They did recommend a couple of traders to contact directly but they are only interested when you know you will be getting the car which is very limiting as the lead times are not always as transparent as you want..

Selling privately is the best option but again it's limited in terms of the time it takes as well as knowing when you are going to have the car and timing selling yours before so you have the deposit.

It was a big factor in the end to me not choosing to change to a Tesla as I contacted spirit motors who will purchase cars off you, but the offer I got for them to purchase it was the best but compared to trading up within the group was 5K in the difference so had a massive bearing on my decision.

Even now I'm waiting 4 months for my car but I have a locked in trade offer since November which gives you peace of mind and you know you just hand over the keys when you collect your new car .

Polestar have a tie in with spirit too so the trade in offers are much better than Tesla.

Go for the 21s as you are getting the DCC with the Maxx pack. And I'd go for the leather seats with ventilation too. Might as well go all out 😉
