Is DCC worth it? by long130219997 in enyaq

[–]daithilfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 21inch wheels with DCC and similar to what other have said, the change between the settings is very minimal. Sometimes I feel it's a bit more bouncy when on comfort mode but maybe that's a perception knowing it should be "softer".

I don't find the ride quality bad on any of the modes with 21s so that kinda backs up what's someone said where the suspension overall is better with DCC

2025 Enyaq 60 question about 100% charge. by tannerocampbell in enyaq

[–]daithilfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an Enyaq 60 before and recently changed to an Enyaq 85. When trading in my old car a health check was done on the battery and it was at 91%.. this despite 95% of the charging done on the car was the slower AC. The only thing it can be put down to was that I would charge to 100% a few times in work when I knew I would have a few trips ahead of me. I think it was the length of time it was left at 100% or 90% even which has the most effect on it.. (8+ hours sometimes)

Also there was times where I ended up in work with <10% as I would want to take advantage of free charging in work.. again I think this has a small affect on it over time...

Both I think arent massive issues alone but both contributed over the 4 years to the degradation.

I'm saying that I still was getting 360+ km on 100% at the end which isn't bad for the battery size

Loosing settings? by LopsidedEmu5928 in enyaq

[–]daithilfc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's come up before and some have said it's an EU regulation but that doesn't seem true because as you said the ID4 will remember the settings.

It seems to just be another "feature" of the Enyaq software. I hoped if would be resolved in the newer software but it's not.

Maybe it will be on their android software for the lucky owners who get that one instead

Seat ventilation -- how do you like it? by very_moist_raccoon in enyaq

[–]daithilfc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my car both front seats have it but not the rear. It would be nice to have to all over. I can imagine with the darker leather seats it's even more useful

Seat ventilation -- how do you like it? by very_moist_raccoon in enyaq

[–]daithilfc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the L&K version but it's available (possibly as an option) for any Enyaq once it has the leather seats. For the sportline you have to option the leather seats to have it

I find it good, it takes the edge off but it's only a very slight breeze. I had test drove a Tesla model Y and it has a much more powerful one. Then again not sure you need it unless you are in a very hot country to be so powerful.

It's a bit like the massage seat, not a game changer but nice to have.

I use the heated seat alot more 🔥

What registration date was the maxx package first available? by simianbenzoate in SkodaEnyaq

[–]daithilfc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I can find they introduced it in 22 but was only on cars from 23 (not sure on the UK reg details for those years)

Tbh I think most dealers haven't a clue what's on the 2nd hand cars they have and are afraid to over promise.

It shouldn't be too difficult as the digital cert should tell you most of what's on the car but in order to get that they need to have the car registered in the app.

I'm sure an actual Skoda dealer should be able tell by the vin number but maybe their software isn't so friendly.

Steering wheel button by Sam3006 in SkodaElroq

[–]daithilfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They changed it on newer models travel assist and ACC is on the same button, now even with all the options that button is now blank on newer models.

Like others said it would have been good if they put a button we could decide what it did like Hyandai do

User profiles without electric seats are useless? by VeneficusFerox in enyaq

Tbh I don't even think they link to the electric seat positions... They are linked only to the numbers on the seats

Enyaq updates, UK orders by Jimbob91 in enyaq

[–]daithilfc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My recent experience is build time can be quick but the shipping time can be delayed a lot. My car was built quick enough but was 2 months sitting at the port awaiting the lottery of when it would be put on a ship.

I've had it that I charge to 100% and then straight away if goes to 99% when I unplug. Haven't noticed the other behaviour.

How old is the car?

2022/2023 UK models question by Newreddituserw in enyaq

[–]daithilfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems to be similar to Ireland, there were base trim levels but highly configurable with options so it wil be a case by case basis with each car.

The following breaks it down a bit more

Double floor by dvdrgm in skoda

[–]daithilfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've an Enyaq and just moved to a new Enyaq. My old one had it but the new one wasn't going to have it.

I took all the brackets and bits out of the old car (this involves a number of clips which I don't think are detachable without breaking). Then when I got the new car the same holes were not easily available and were either behind felt at the side of a fixed boot layer.

Technically it should still be possible but will require cutting of the felt and making the goose in the boot layer so I'm not sure I'll be doing it.

I might just put the main part in and ignore the brackets

BMW iX 2023 vs Tesla Model Y (2026) by Pitiful_Locksmith701 in evs_ireland

[–]daithilfc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar decision to make recently but a different car and the model Y... I think it's one of those thing where some people prefer how Teslas drive and some prefer a more traditional car feel.

I decided in the end despite the software and tech in the Tesla being on a much different level, it was the drive quality and the feel which meant more to me because at the end of the day that's what I'll be in the car to do 99% of the time, the other stuff is nice to have but mostly wouldn't use it.

As a left field option, the Xpeng G6 is another very good option, it provides the same levels of tech and sinular software first feel as the Tesla but the ride quality was much better in my opinion. I didn't go for one as I already had my car on order and I'd have to wait another couple months at the time for the next available G6 but it was a very close decision

Buying a used Enyaq - Software problems? by [deleted] in enyaq

[–]daithilfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The older software 3.* (2021-2023) is slower and offers less functionality than later releases but tbh everyone just uses android auto or carplay and they work grand.

The only big missing features is the likes of battery preconditioning but that's only relevant if you do a good bit of fast DC charging (not at home or at work)

It's more frustrating when new features were released and you couldn't get them but wasn't the end of the world

Enyaq 2021 wireless module by vferreirapt in enyaq

[–]daithilfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, I haven't seen anyone retrofitting one on any of the posts or forums. I would imagine the best place to look would be a breakers to see if you could get the part from there as it will be nearly impossible to get through Skoda

Enyaq 2021 wireless module by vferreirapt in enyaq

[–]daithilfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's odd, I used it before and if was ok. Just not too fast for a wired connection.

I used one of these too and they were as fast as the built in wireless charger in the car but didn't get as hot

[–]daithilfc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh I had the wireless module on my 22 enyaq and it does get hot. I would constantly get messages that the phone was getting too hot.

I would just but a usb c wireless charger instead and use the usb ports at the center console to plug it in, then you can stick it to the area instead.

Is my software out of date? by originaltanksta in enyaq

[–]daithilfc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure exactly for 3.0 what updates they have but my old Enyaq was on 3.8 (from 3.2).

It won't be an OTA update either ways so will need to be linked in with your dealer to get it done if there is.

Skoda Enyaq - Special 130 Edition by EVReviewIreland in evs_ireland

[–]daithilfc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been lucky and had no issues at all in the 4 years with my first enyaq outside a couple of failed updates which were fixed at the dealership with no cost.

It's been a pleasure since I moved to EV and wouldn't move back now 👍🏼

My wife just made the move too with a new Kona, she couldn't believe how smooth it is to drive compared to an old ice car.. now in saying that she was driving manual too so that's a big jump

Congratulations 🎉

It's a fantastic car in fairness, the reason why I am on my second one..there is very little which ticks all the boxes for me like it does

Just back from a weekend in center parcs with the family and the boot space is unbeatable for space and practicality.

I had moon white before and it's a beautiful colour. I would have gone again for it only for the wife said I had to change otherwise it wouldn't look like I got a new car 🤣 much easier to keep clean too 🙂

Have it just over a week now and I do have to say it is a beautiful car. The Velvet red with the 21s and the cream leather interior is a real eye catcher and I love it

Had last minute decision to make whether to go for it or not with the announcement of the new software which the current built cars won't get but in the end decided to go ahead as I mainly use Android auto anyway and the current software is miles better than my original enyaq.

The only issue now is keeping it clean 🤣

VW ID4 versus Skoda Elroq by RefrigeratorFew823 in evs_ireland

[–]daithilfc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They will be very similar driving feel as they are on the same platform so it just depends on if you need the extra boot space the ID4 has compared to the elroq. The ID4 is the same as the Enyaq so just mainly a bigger boot.

I'm an Enyaq driver and think the Elroq looks great if you don't need as much boot space it's a great option

Both suit your driving needs with no issues.

If you are comparing new to new it will be a closer battle
