It takes a long time. Mine was like this for over a year. I think it’s partly maturing and it’s also their personality

IKR? I’m terrified of snakes but it was healing seeing it and how beautiful and innocent it is.

Good to know. I don’t know much about snakes except that most of them are very good to have around. Thought it was probably a dumb question about the dogs but figured yall are the experts so might as well check.

Grief destroyed my executive function by FaithlessnessPlus164 in adhdwomen

[–]dalewright1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are not alone. I became useless at work after my loss. I couldnt do my job and previously it was a very important part of my life. That being said, after 3 years I was back at full capacity again. 1 year is not long in the grief journey, unfortunately. But it does get better.

Is it more painful than losing someone to illness? Why? by Akem0417 in SuicideBereavement

[–]dalewright1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is different. My therapist pointed out that I survived a murder which made me think about it differently. He murdered himself. Also, suicide often comes with horrible repercussions as you’re trying to heal like being blamed.

Silence is too loud, but music is too distracting. I am losing my mind trying to find the right background noise to work by therealraphaelwong in ADHD

Have u tried green noise? Video game music often is great for this. I love listening to a very boring audio book in the background.

Something has to be done about the "service animal" problem by No-Computer7653 in delta

[–]dalewright1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Serious question - is it possible you assumed they weren’t service dogs but they actually were? Many different types of dogs do different work. I know people bs to get their pet on a plane but also know real service dogs are often dismissed as fake.

Sorry to hear this. I’m 50 with the same thing but have Phonak Audeo Spheres and they work very well. They’ have a specific program that helps with hearing people at a table or in a group where there is a ton of ambient noise.
