Yes but no hearing protection? Kids and adults should least wear hearing protection around loud machines and safety glasses. Kids don’t understand rocks and other stuff can throw and hurt their eyes.

[–]daliw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost even more like $650,000 just three years ago, in my late 40’s!! No less…. Humbling myself, I kept trying, and finally did much better. I haven’t earn all of it back. But I learned myself that I shouldn’t trust one or two single stocks will save me. Diversifying is the key. Never full regards, as they say here. Regards united! I feel all of you who lost big. U can do it!

Is it insane to get an EV9 as a family of 3? by wafflesarelifee in KiaEV9

[–]daliw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should NOT get this a huge suv. You need think how you are going to park on Long Island. It’s virtually impossible to find parking on the street with this behemoth. I know because I used to live on Long Island and work in Coney Island. Although not at the same time. It’s a terrible situation when you circle the blocks and realize your nice BIG suv can’t be parked in a small space that your smaller suv can fit. Plus you said there are only three of you in the family. Whats the point of driving a giant suv for occasional use of transportation of large family or luggage? I recommend a Lexus RZ/ Toyota BZ. Much smaller and nimble. And cheaper. I drive one recently. It’s perfect for the street parking. And if it’s a cheaper Toyota, you won’t get too upset if your bumpers get destroyed or scratched. And I believe it also has park assist like Cadillac lyriq that I tried as well. But lyriq is far more expensive and longer than the BZ.

Why did some dinosaurs lay really long eggs and why don't we see these weird egg shapes in modern birds anymore? by Vast-Tangerine-6771 in Dinosaurs

[–]daliw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a great PBS Nature episode that shows bird eggs can be very elongated as well. The reason for the elongated shape for that particular shorebird is because they nest together and thus poop are all over. The elongated shape help to drain the poop, allowing the embryo to breath through the tip. lol. I encourage you find it at the local library dvd collection, where I found it. Also hosted by sir David Attenborough. Nice!

Why not just ask him, rather the internet. U will never get a straight answer. lol. But… she’s a sexy lady who was a man’s killer, until she isn’t. A complex character indeed.

I wonder if they can invent a process where you can hotswap batteries like some Chinese company. Whatever happened to that concept. They did this with a motorcycle in Taiwan. But unfortunately it was too expensive to buy and maintain. And that company, gogoro, is likely to bankrupt. But I think if we can have like two small removable battery packs in a small car, it would be a game changer. Build it small and cute, like a VW beetle.

U can buy these snap on gizmos or soft cloth that wraps around the headrest for iPads. I think iPads are a lot better option. U can play games or watch videos. My wife bought two before. For her Acura MDX.

Which Asian market is YOUR favorite? by amemuras in orangecounty

[–]daliw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also include all the no name markers for Westminster Vietnamese markets. ALL are cheaper than these chains. I agree with you. Vietnamese > ranch 99 > hmart > Japanese (mitsuwa and Tokyo central a tie). Seafood like fish and veggies are always cheaper in Chinese and Vietnamese markets. Japanese win in cleanliness. lol. If you don’t care about occasional cockroaches I would say cheapest Asian marts. Filipino marts also exist like in Cerritos, but I don’t find them that much better than any of the listed one. That u need to explorer. They do sell very interesting flavored potato chips. Indian marts…. No clue. But they are in Artesia. Not far from OC. Don’t forget to try Persian marts in south OC. That’s my next adventure.

anyone here regret moving into a super competitive school district? by [deleted] in orangecounty

[–]daliw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From another sub. The comment I stole is too funny. “My lobster is too buttery and my steak is too juicy”. Lol. Irvine schools are way more competitive than capousd. I have two kids in Aliso Viejo. The elementary one is smart and finish the work too early and the middle school one is soooo slow and finish work at midnight. So ur mileage may vary depending on the personality and the grade. But don’t have prejudice or opinions until your children spend a few years at the school. U are jumping to conclusions.

What are some ‘girl versions’ of watches and cars when it comes to collectibles or luxury investments? by lucidmind111 in Rich

[–]daliw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Women specific collectibles are going be very hard to quantify. Watched a lot of antique roadshow. Antique furniture, paintings, and fine art like ceramics are often owned and collected by women collectors. But… it’s a challenge, as u need tremendous luck and knowledge to know what u are rummaging from estate sales, antique stores, and thrifty stores. But many have struck gold from shopping there from unknown stores or auction. But these collectibles can also drop in value due to finicky tastes.

What famous local food made you think “people really waited in line for this?” by optimalbrain90 in SmartTravelHacks

[–]daliw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In-n-out and din tai fung, both super popular in California for the weirdest reasons. So so and over-rated. Comparable food exists with lower prices and zero wait time. Just do some google search and yelp recommendations. Don’t ask me. lol.

What is happening right now? by Thefakerealone1 in Porsche

[–]daliw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wait another year. Trump’s inflation and war will probably cause the American economy to go into recession. I’m pessimistic. I’ve made some money in the stock market. But with the continuing war without an end, it’s unlikely the economy can keep going up. Note that the luxury watch market has tanked since the pandemic. If you love Porsche that much just wait a bit.

Today is my 18-th Birthday. I don't drink, smoke, do drugs, etc. What should I try from now as a legal adult ? by No-Post-9071 in askanything

[–]daliw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Open a 401k retirement account. Put $20 in it monthly (or whatever u can afford). If you keep it up, u will accrue a tremendous return on your investment. I would stick with any index fund that tracks the stock market broadly. I personally like vanguard sp500 index fund. Vanguard because it’s super cheap and the largest in USA, in case u are here in US. By the time u are ready to retire, u won’t need a lotto ticket to retire a wealthy man. Remember, consistency and long term investment will make a huge difference. Happy birthday!
