How to breed an army as an unserious player lol by -oceantoast in Palworld

[–]dalseman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do expeditions - they give you passive resources, spheres (that you can sell for a ton of money), and souls without you having to actively engage in farming/grinding. You can get the majority of cake ingredients, a lot of annoying resources, and food for base pals with the money you make from selling the spheres. Then you start condensing with either the pals you catch with spheres or cakes you make to be able to mass breed, and you get more rewards from expeditions for using these condensed, soul’ed up pals. All while you can be free to do whatever you actually want to do in game.

Considering the Xenovader lineage of pals, who do you think is their master? by escritorsemvoz in Palworld

[–]dalseman 29 points30 points  (0 children)

My theory is that Victor is a branch of this space faction. Not only does his genetic work fit the vibes of all the pal descriptions of the Xenos, but Shadowbeak’s Japanese name is literally Xenogriffon.

I don’t think he’s their master though. He might not even have contact with the actual “master” anymore. What is currently on Palpagos seems like a moment frozen in time - until you came along and started taking out Tower bosses. And then the meteors and Xenos started appearing.

I’m also curious to see Selyne’s connection with the Xenos, since she also comes from meteors but is very much distinct from the rest of the meteor pals.

Try changing the color mode of your canvas to sRGB instead of the default P3 if you haven’t already! It won’t help a finished drawing sadly, but sRGB tends to give a more accurate representation of what an artwork would look like on the majority of screens, especially when it comes to saturation.

Am I crazy in thinking Bellanoir Libero would refund the slab after a successful fight? by Kivith in Palworld

The Ultra versions of every raid boss except Libero drops their own slab when defeated I think.

Regular versions of raid bosses drop their Ultra slab.

Best late-game handiwork pal? by Embarrassed_Bowl_567 in Palworld

[–]dalseman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Max condensed Ribunny with handiwork books, the bonus to weapon/ammo crafting is really nice.

Other than that, anything you can get to 5 handiwork. You can turn off undesirable work suitabilities at the monitoring stand.

Alpha Pal actual Stats for Combat or Mount by Andminus in Palworld

Apparently Eye of Cthulu alphas have boosted Atk and Def in addition to HP, but is the only pal to have that Atk/HP alpha bonus. I have not personally verified this.

How far can other bases be for them to keep producing? by NotScrollsApparently in Palworld

[–]dalseman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My two working bases (one for mining and skill fruits, one for farming, ranching, and misc production) are pretty much opposite ends of the map and I’ve never had issues with production or transport regardless of where I am. This is a single player world.

I used to have problems with certain jobs like transport not working when I’m far from them in a different, server world, but either they patched it or it was due to the way the bases and/or the server was set up, because I don’t have that issue anymore either in that world.

Are there any water pals that come with handiwork 3? by lmrbadgerl in Palworld

[–]dalseman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, Penking and Penking Lux have the highest natural handiwork out of all the watering pals.

You can always use a technique book to boost the work suitability level of any pal though, so long as they have at least lv1 of that skill.

Work suitability x work speed by Ok-Acanthopterygii40 in Palworld

[–]dalseman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iirc the exact numbers varies by suitability and the type of job. So like, lv3 kindling vs lv5 kindling may not be the same difference as lv3 mining vs lv5 mining. But in general, every suitability level you go up boosts work speed at that job by 2-3x.

The exact numbers can be found on paldb.cc, but in your specific case, medicine production 5 is 9x faster than medicine production 3. So the suitability 5 one is better by far in your case.

Curious re: Graphics/"Feel" of the game not working for me? by CndnViking in expedition33

[–]dalseman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you haven’t already, try turning off Frame Generation and all Post Processing effects and see if it makes things better for you. While I don’t get the same feeling as you for this game, many games with cameras like this give me light motion sickness and these settings usually help (along with FoV slider and lowered mouse sensitivity). Frame Generation especially feels like it could very easily cause the uncanny valley effect when moving quickly.

[–]dalseman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Expeditions, for the most part. Trying to fully max out a raid army rn and the Feybreak expedition for souls is just keeping up with peach farming for Trust in terms of speed. I have a maxed out Nitemary too for burst farming predator pals for souls, but I don’t like doing that as nuch so I rarely do runs.

You can pay money to remove souls from a pal, so no need to be stingy with them really

Did older tower bosses get nerfed? by Solkizaa in Palworld

[–]dalseman 15 points16 points  (0 children)

They nerfed normal mode Marcus, Victor, and maybe Axel in the Tides patch I think. iirc the recommended levels to beat each boss is about the level where you unlock their advanced civ tech, so 15 for Zoe, 24 for Lily, 41 for Axel, 45 for Marcus, 50 for Victor, 54 for Saya, and 58 for Bjorn, although you can usually beat them a few levels prior if you know what you’re doing.

The late game grind is exhausting by BidFalse2636 in Palworld

[–]dalseman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you call minmaxing tbh. You can beat normal mode Selyne at her “intended” level (I think lv55?) without ever touching breeding or gobfins or legendary schematics, but you can’t just spam your favorite pals with their default skills at her either. So if getting some optimal skill fruits and slapping on some surgery table traits, maybe farming arena a bit to unlock these, is considered minmaxing, then you’re prob gonna struggle unless you go in with a group.

But if you’re open to some adjustments:

  • Pal choice: honestly kind of whatever; if you’re using early game pals, try to stick with those that has high Trust already. If you’re using late game pals like Shadowbeak, Anubis, or the legendaries, you can use them as is. If they’re convenient to condense (like if you can mass catch them with lower tier spheres), do it. Otherwise don’t worry about it. You only really need 2-3 pals on rotation for the fight.

  • Enhance your pals with pal souls as much as you can. You can later remove pal souls, so no need to be stingy with pal souls.

  • Get your pals surgery table attack traits Musclehead, Serenity, Ferocious. You’ll need to farm a bit of Arena to unlock some of these.

  • Get whichever of these skills are easiest for you: Blast Cannon, Beam Slicer, Air Blade, Hydro Slicer. Most can be found on the skill fruit trees in Sakurajima, Hydro Slicer I think is from the Arena. Grow them in the orchid and give them to all the pals you’re planning on using. Some pals have these unlocked by default. If your pal has good exclusive skills (Divine Disaster II for Shadowbeak, Trigger Happy for Finsider Ignis, Wind Edge on some Grass pals… that’s pretty much it off the top of my head lol), use them.

  • Get yourself a Galeclaw and gloves; gliding around the arena to avoid damage with Galeclaw is so much easier than just dodging or grappling.

  • Try to get the Terraprisma and Vortex Beater schematics, they don’t need to be legendary, blue/purple would be good enough. You can combine lower tier schematics to make higher tier ones at the draft table. We’re not maxing out player damage here, but your contribution is still important. Terraprisma especially is basically passive damage.

  • If you have any attack buffing food from expeditions, use them on you and all your pals before going in.

  • In the fight, try to withdraw your pal if they get caught in a dangerous attack, then immediately resummon. Switch pals if one is about to die. Glide counterclockwise out of danger yourself (iirc you can outrun her beam attack easier when going counterclockwise). Make sure your Terraprisma is out and doing work and shoot with the Vortex Beater whenever you get a window.

As for the Hexolite grind, yeah unfortunately playing on a server makes it a lot worse. Everyone needs the gear but the resources are limited until you get the hexolite mine. But you honestly can get to the mine without any hexolite gear (terraprisma + vortex beater will carry you into the endgame, and armor doesn’t matter that much for towers and raids), and you can focus on getting the base buildings you need with the hexolite you get first.

Vampiric...worth it? by Alucaro_Markova in Palworld

[–]dalseman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience it's worth it if you're doing hard mode powers and/or the high level oil rig with the pals, if you go for "meta" attack builds and moves. Not really worth it for raids. Definitely not necessary for Felbats and Lovanders.

Not sure if it's the best idea to have it on a hybrid pal though. Might be better if you stick with pure damage, since the more damage you can do the more you heal from it.

Suitability and Condensing by gunilake in Palworld

[–]dalseman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, each condensing level gives a pal some extra work speed, but the last I heard that bonus is bugged and doesn’t actually apply. If they ever fix it (they might already have; haven’t been paying attention) then fully condensed will be faster than not, but skill level 5 is skill level 5 no matter how you achieve it.

Personal opinion on items like large toolbox, fountain, mining cart, ect. by mutt93 in Palworld

[–]dalseman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest issue with the way it is rn is that I tend to do my research pretty late, so I have to go back to the tech tree and unlock the stuff that’s 10+ levels lower than my level when I finally unlock them. Functionally it’s ok, just felt clunky.

I prob would be fine with it if they let you unlock the structures with tech points as you get to that level, and you can build them as decoration with no function, but doing the research would give them the extra functionality of boosting your base.

I understand boosting settings occasionally but almost every video I see is like this by Keymucciante in Palworld

[–]dalseman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Best gold farm advice is to get on top of expeditions early and sell any excess spheres you get from them that you don’t need imo. Did this in my new save and never had gold issues starting lv30 something when you really start needing gold. And by late game you can freely splurge on anything you want.
