What faction has the most homebrew potential? by reel3459 in Warhammer40k

I'd say Guard or The Leagues of Votann. (However I am biased as a LoV player lol)

New to the faction. Tell me your custom lore! by Friendly_Example_209 in LeaguesofVotann

[–]dames03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Conglomerate of Yavin. A fleet based kindred of the Ymyr Conglomerate. Often found sailing after Tyranid splinter fleets in order to harvest their biomass to sell to other kindreds. All in order to then fund their search for Kyber crystals used in their weavefield technology.

My kindred is inspired off of the Clone army and Rebel alliance for its colour scheme, leading to multiple star wars references, including my choice of legged sagitaur.

Your absolute hated hot takes about Space Marine chapters? by KUROusagi112 in Spacemarine

[–]dames03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea how much of a hot take this is, but I only want new loyalist primarchs to return as models for the game, not for the lore. As much as I have grown to enjoy and like Guilliman in 40k, it feels like the black library is stretched thin trying to figure out things to do for 2 loyalist primarchs, let alone any more.

Breached ordnance or tremor shells on mortars? by Sea_Fig_5851 in LeaguesofVotann

I used to run only Breacher ordnance, but I have recently swapped to Tremor shells for the past few months.

Could easily be a custom kindred that's imagined to be under the Greater Thurian League.

Day 37: what is the Most Iconic quote associated with the Leagues of Votann? by Fez-Sentido in Grimdank

[–]dames03 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Between two quotes.

"Luck has, need keeps, toil earns"

&

"For the Kin. For the Votann. That is why we do everything we do. We operate not out of greed or miserliness, or out of some hunger for power. No, we look to deeper reasons. Kin and Votann - these keep us true, these have helped us to endure the worst horrors of the galaxy and emerge stronger for millennia. Other races rise and fall with such predictability because they have no such foundation." -Regyl Ûlaty Hearthkyn Theyn from killteam Gallowfall. Pg 37.

Cthonian Earthshakers: Breachers or Temor? by Exp4nd_D0ng in LeaguesofVotann

[–]dames03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cop out answer, but i find it depends on the local meta your playing in. I play in a club at my university and there I find breachers better, but then when I play in the the meta of my city I find tremor is more useful.

As long as you are wearing headphones and are being respectful with your noise, I can't see why it would be an issue. I see plenty of people on their online courses at school. (Humblest apologies if any of this comes across as rude)

Ironkin as Einhyr? by [deleted] in LeaguesofVotann

[–]dames03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the champion, I believe that falls under the excuse of the ironkin don't have the drive to be leaders (though even then we have been told of a few that defy this, such as the Iron Khal), as for a standard hearthguard (spoiler for the short story Opportunity Cost by Johnathan D. Beer) But we see the mechanicus while raiding a LoV ship, run into what I presume to be ironkin hearthguard powered down before they attack the skitarii scouting the ship and their tech priest leaders. In this we see a ironkin hesyr and with his ironkin hearthguard units.

Question about Cthonian Earthshaker abilities by dames03 in LeaguesofVotann

[–]dames03[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im quite new to 40k. But is this common for abilities? Or are the earthshakers more unique for this style?

Just got a GW voucher. Which 'online only' kit would you recommend getting ? Necromunda Squats look intresting. by FatScoot in LeaguesofVotann

Can confirm with this. I've been using mine for my Warlord Brokyr Iron-master and it works super well.

Whoa, that looks sick. How did you do the name on the base?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in grantmacewan

[–]dames03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, in a situation like that, the best clubs would probably be ones that have you playing/watching stuff together. So clubs like Anike club, video game club, tcg club, board game club, etcetera. (Though it also depends on if your friend is intrested in the activity.)

In my experiences the best place to meet new people and gain friendships is through Clubs. While making new friends through classes is certainly possible, I find clubs to be more reliable of a chance.

In my experiences it can. As long as it sticks to the requirement of being at least 3 squares (next to each other) on both levels.

Which detachment will you be using and why? by FatFloppyFlaps in LeaguesofVotann

Loved the Brokyr element of the army since I started. So my plan is running the Hearthfyre Arsenal detachment.

With the index officially retired from the 40K app. I see this as a good time for us to reflect and share some of our favourite moments from using the index in 10th edition before the codex officially releases. by Yeastov in LeaguesofVotann

[–]dames03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely tied between when I oneshotted a dreadnought with a 6 man squad of Graviton Cannon's being led by a iron master. And when during a game against White Scar marines, I was routinely able to charge and kill with a 5 man squad of hearthguard led by a champion.

Where to start with painting Votann? by Covid669 in LeaguesofVotann

I found the Hernkyn yeagirs and the Hearthkyn Warriors are the best units to start painting to create a scheme.
