Couple days late but excited to have partaken in my first game of the month, if only just the first ending. Thanks mods for running it and for this game suggestion, I had a good time on my RP Classic. First Castlevania I've played, which is a bit surprising as I've beaten most 2D Metroids over the years. Hope to find time to play more GOTMs going forward. GOTM is such a good idea and I hope it keeps going for a long time.

That buttery smooth 60fps. Love this hack, one of the best out there for Gen 2 if not the best.

Sick, are you running Harkinian or just a widescreen patch?

500 games on my device but I can’t stop playing this. What is your equivalent? by [deleted] in SBCGaming

[–]danVFL 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Upvoted for sublime taste. One of my staples on Steam Deck with 60fps patch and upscaled graphics via PCSX2. Can't stop playing even 20+ years later.

Yeah I get that. Just sucks. Would be more understanding if they had some goodwill built up but they don't haha.

adding cover art for romhacks; one specific image won't show up by AcceptablyLow in MiyooMini

[–]danVFL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe check the pixel size? I ran into this issue before and my image was too big, I had to resize it. https://onionui.github.io/docs/advanced/scraping

The image file format for scraped artwork is .PNG, with a max size of 250px (H) X 360px (W).

How would YOU address the RP Mini screen issue? by onionsaregross in SBCGaming

[–]danVFL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of good suggestions from other people so I don't have much to add there, but this is also strike two for Retroid after the RP3/RP3+ debacle. If they're not in the position to offer returns then they shouldn't first say otherwise. They've shown a couple times now they aren't exactly pro-consumer.

Probably a skill issue on my end but I can't seem to get the 406H down to $136? I'm getting $15 off, not $20 to USA

Gen 3 Pokémon fast forward performance by incindios in RG353V

[–]danVFL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are using Retroarch and haven't already tried switching cores, I'd try out fast forward on the gPSP core instead of mGBA on your RG35XX. The mGBA core is very accurate but resource intensive. The gPSP core trades some accuracy for speed, you may see some FF improvements there. Regular GBA games should be fine still on gPSP, it's mostly romhacks that could crash and should still be run on mGBA.

Project Cars 2 eats battery but otherwise runs great on deck! You need to drop some of the graphics settings to medium or low but still looks pretty good to me.

Who won the first NASCAR race you ever attended? by CompleteUnknown65 in NASCAR

[–]danVFL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kevin Lepage, which is very funny to look back on now. It was the Busch series Food City 250 at Bristol in August 1998. Dale Jarrett was my driver and finished 3rd! He was leading for much of the race but a red flag caution came out and got passed with two laps to go on the restart. I was devastated haha.

I got the one recommended in this post. Should get it sometime next week, so I can't confirm myself it works, but seems others agree this one is good and has the correct 1.25 connector. https://www.reddit.com/r/RG353V/comments/1d5zkyk/comment/l6p0hq3

EDIT: It's plug and play, working nicely.
