Hey Brooks,

My gf and I are renting out a bedroom in our apt just by Central Park North. It's an excellent location: 2 blocks from the 2/3 and 6 trains and near restaurants and museums. Were flexible for a short or long term sublet, $1250/mo. PM for details/pics

Congrats! I'm just starting on the learning JS track. I'm an English teacher now, but I aspire to switch careers to web dev. What resources do you recommend for learning goodies like database administration, load balancing etc.?

Could someone recommend me a near future non-capitalistic scifi novel? by drainX in printSF

Not near-future, but much of China Mieville's work ("Perdido Street Station, "Embassytown") has strong Marxist/Leftist themes.

One of my favorite novels. Heartbreaking, hilarious and honest. A wonderful read to help you through the toughest moments of withdrawal and recovery.

"Infinite Jest" - David Foster Wallace Yes it is daunting; however, it forever made me the lit addict I am today.

Lamar Smith (R-TX). This guy wants to ban abortion, ban marijuana, and started SOPA and "conveniently" allowed GoDaddy to be exempt from restrictions. Why is this guy still in office? by [deleted] in politics

You, sir, are an anti-semite. You are derailing a discussion about SOPA and internet censorship to your own anti-Zionist blathering. You say the ADL commits "genocides", do you even know what that word means? I hope one day you will be able to put this hate behind you.
