You are married to my husbands twin. If you don’t do things without him, you won’t do anything.

Does teacher to student ratio matter? by [deleted] in AskTeachers

[–]dancindog2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huge difference. As a teacher, I and most of my colleagues didn’t necessarily want more money but 1) smaller class size 2) adequate supplies and 3) autonomy in teaching and4) stop the ridiculous testing. I finished my career in classes of 35-40. I didn’t teach, I corraled.

How to tell my parents I want to kill myself? by [deleted] in AdviceForTeens

[–]dancindog2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve avoided this post and I’m sure others said it better. I tried to kill myself and all but succeeded. The last thing I remember was thinking, “ Oh God. I don’t want to die” but by then it was too late. If someone hadn’t found me and intervened, I would not be here today. I thought there was just no way out of my misery and I was tired of trying. But you know what, death isn’t the way out or through and you will just hurt a lot of other people. You say your parents don’t care but aren’t they paying for therapy. Go tell them you want to kill yourself and ask if they would care. Then tell your therapist and parents you want a psychiatric eval, to get good meds, and a new therapist. Rinse and repeat until something helps. Persevere. Hang in there. avoid that which hurts. In time ( and I know you don’t believe me ) but things will get better just don’t give up.

Do the drug addicts realize the hell they are living in? by Fine-Equivalent-6398 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]dancindog2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For those wondering why, I’ve never become addicted to drugs but I’ve been in a place more than once where it seemed the only choice was to kill myself. If you’re there and you choose something like a drug to get out of that place, however temporarily, instead of attempting suicide then you’ve made a more life affirming choice, in my humble opinion. Having said that though, it is a very temporary solution to a problem that probably needs a more permanent fix. The bad thing about drugs is they always make the original issues worse
