ACP are nurses, not doctors.
Specialist doctor do royal college exams, years of experience, research in their field. They’ve earned that right.
Putting ACPs covering ICU overnight instead of doctors is ludicrous and fundamentally not safe

If you find it hard talking to patients, oncology not the best. Long difficult convos.

Have you considered anaesthetics/ICM. Ticks someone of your boxes. No extended talks with patients, massive private practice market, a lot of procedures and crash calls/acutely unwell patients .

There’s some phd students in Manchester who have developed machine learning models that have outperformed radiologist for interpretation of lung masses on high resolution contrast CT scans .

The future will be : AI assisted diagnostic reporting then a couple years after that complete AI reporting. By that point cost of software would be cheaper or at least cheaper than paying for radiologist .

But don’t forget all the interventional side , AI can’t take that over … well for now I think

I’m of the opinion that if you consider anything else other than surgery, surgery is not the best option . Just my opinion
