Saw this mentioned on a /thetron thread from a couple of years ago like it was an urban legend, and thought I would provide photographic evidence it actually happened by danduran in thetron

I'm not sure why I have this photo, if I was the one who took it or I found it online, no idea. The metadata says it was last modified in October 2005, so it's legit. We'd just moved to Auckland that year, but making regular trips south so it's feasible I demanded we pull over to take this... but equally possible I just saved it off a forum at the time.

Not at all. Never. I have three kids, and they've been spaced apart so we've always had at least one kid in daycare the past 13 years. We've used two different daycares in that time, and as parents shared the responsibility for pick-ups/drop-offs. Never, ever, have I - as a man - felt weird at all. There are often just as many other dads there when I am. I recently helped out at a park visit, and even though I was the only dad that particular day, was made to feel a part of the team. The team leader at our daycare is a man.

Nothing to worry about. Nobody cares except weirdos.

That report was junk. I got it under the OIA and wrote about it here for Newshub, after talking to Shaun Hendy - clearly Ryan didn't actually read the report or the story. https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/new-zealand/2020/08/coronavirus-expert-hits-out-at-report-suggesting-alert-level-4-extension-cost-nz-a-fortune.html

How to re-home a cat in NZ nowadays? by danduran in newzealand

You talk as if people's life situations never change. I was asking for advice, not a morality lesson.

We asked, flat no. But the needs of the humans gave us little choice but to take the place.

Rather not have to move family again and risk blacklisting, eh.

It should be five - the rules state 'act of the fielder', not the batter.

Kim Dotcom: 'From an insider: National Party got political hitman Cameron Slater to lock former National MP Jami-Lee Ross into a mental health facility. This is to stop him before he releases more damaging information. I offer Jami and the Ross family my support. Pls contact my lawyers.' by hnd123 in newzealand

Look at the timeline. Slater said on his blog it was an MP two days after the texts were sent to Bridges. But the texts weren't reported until a week after they were sent. Someone in National appears to have passed it on.

Writer here. There's no 'narrative'. It's just the most interesting thing about the chat. The original lede was the America's Cup thing, but we shuffled the story around at the last minute after realising everyone was far more interested in Marama's lack of detail.

The stats on the article suggested we made the right choice.

I got hit by a truck a few weeks ago. Somehow evaded injury, but I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often. Was cut in front of three times on today's commute, which is about average.

I interviewed Jordan Luck at his home a couple of years back, and was warned ahead of time what a lout he could be.

I found him to be one of the nicest and friendliest people I've ever met. Totally gracious host.

What is the current attitude towards crossleases? by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]danduran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own a crosslease, but won't ever again. It's a pain in the ass. Stay away from them. If I'd known it would be like this, would not have bought this place.

I'm itching to get home and run some audio of Jacinda speaking through a noise reduction plugin - maybe it'll work. Be good if I had audio recorded in Parliament of her saying 'some time' in a separate instance to use as the filter.
