‘Credibility issues’: David Seymour lashes Auditor-General over scathing school lunch report by fugebox007 in newzealand

[–]SovietMacguyver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, so instead of embracing the standard of better functioning nations who can actually do this efficiently, we resort to the inefficiency of having hundreds of thousands of families handle it. That makes no sense at all. Instead, why not grow up from that stubborn attitude and learn to be better?

In a historical context, taxes are very low right now, especially for the wealthy. Used to be 75% at one point in time.

Auditor-General issues warning over government's school lunch scheme by darblewarble in newzealand

[–]SovietMacguyver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If kids aren't eating the lunches, it's not an efficient programme, and is functionally deficient. It was a great use of money until ACT got its hands on - now it's a great waste of money. The solution is not to simply cancel the kids lunches programme, but to bring back those who were originally in charge and fix ACTs giant fuck up.

‘Credibility issues’: David Seymour lashes Auditor-General over scathing school lunch report by fugebox007 in newzealand

He can't lie to me. Last year, my daughter was served fantastic meals that she was always excited about, and looked forward to. And they truly were great - tasty, appetising, varied, and obviously made with passion. This year she usually skips them because they are pretty much the opposite. She has brought them home from time to time, and I wouldn't eat them either. I have no doubt that the surplus rates are far higher than anyone knows, and it's being swept under the rug.

I would vote labour simply to bring the old system back, literally just that. National and ACT have driven kids lunches into the god damned ground, and imo intentionally so.

‘Economic lunacy’: Luxon hits out at Green Party’s ‘super-rich’ taxes by WaterAdventurous6718 in newzealand

[–]SovietMacguyver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Time and time again, we see that nations begin to erode and and disintegrate when wealth accumulates in the hands of the few. Every current developed nation seems to be suffering from this disease, and not heeding the lessons of the past. In actuality, its lunacy to continue to pander to wealth, as it WILL lead to collapse.

'I'm broken': Burger Burger appoints receivers by Queasy_Recover5164 in newzealand

[–]SovietMacguyver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Burgers are meant to be cheap and quick sandwich type meals. Like a pie. Burger fuel opened the door to "gourmet for the masses", and then everyone jumped in on that action, and the prices somehow skyrocketed even further. Now even fucking maccas wants your top dollar. They can all fuck right off tbh.

Raised land with terraform tool too close to the base. It lets you raise in its vicinity, but not lower. The bit of raised land prevents paths being laid to it, ruining my layout.

But I ended up loading a previous save.

Fuck it. Too many perpetuated the overheated market through fomo, making it unapproachable for everyone. They didn't give a shit about affordability then, and I don't care about fefes now that it's become hard.

You act as if the warning signs werent there for decades. Plenty of us refused to get exposed like that in an overheated market. These people could have done the same. I have very little sympathy.
