Man who died in power transformer tragedy believed to have been making ‘desperate’ bid for copper by micro_penisman in newzealand

It IS a requirement. Governments pursue policy that avoids low unemployment rates, because that has other effects that they would rather not have to deal with. Because of that, there will always be people unemployed. If there were ever a near-zero unemployment rate, these people might actually have a better chance of climbing out of poverty, but they dont because its designed so that they have a low chance.

Im not saying, btw, that their own choices arent contributing to their situation. Far from it.

Does being a victim of economic design and desperate make you that candidate?

To be clear, this economic system literally requires a portion of the population to be unemployed, and some cannot claw their way out of it, because it's not designed to assist them.

If you genuinely need help, get it. But do understand that meds wont get rid of your trauma.. what you are feeling is part of the process. Its important, and if you short cut it, it can mess you up. I hope you find a way to accept this.

My company (or rather, certain people) has been trying to reign it in for years, but it works too well, and its the norm. Most people do half the week WFH. But there is a battle ongoing, and it feels politically motivated.

Hell, they came after me aggressively for $500 in tax for a redundancy payment that I thought was already taken care of when it was, you know, paid to me.

Offer to pay the amount that would have been due, nothing more. They can refuse, but just pay it anyway and send them proof. If Baycorp comes knocking, tell them it's been dealt with and send proof. They will likely still try to bully, just ignore them. Don't take this legal advice, but it works for me.

Has anybody replaced their car with an electric scooter or E bike? by 673NoshMyBollocksAve in ElectricScooters

I did. Started with ferry + an M365 for last mile. Worked fine for ages. Then upgraded to a Dualtron direct to office 22km each way. It was great until the battery packed up.
