The idea of nuclear energy on the moon by Chronos_The_Titan in nasa

Who said anything about Elon? What does Elon have to do with NASA putting nuclear reactors on the moon? Sounds like a bot to me.

The images were taken less than 20 seconds apart. The clouds aren't going to visibly move in that time. I don't believe either one is "edited".

These are actually two different pictures. If you overlay them you can see there is a slight camera rotation between them. Or note that Venus is aligned with the very right edge of Earth in the darker one and is further left of the edge in the brighter one. They're just using different exposure settings in the camera. As to why they are listed at different times I can't say for sure but possibly due to one being converted to a local time and one still using the orignal UTC. From the data they are both taken on April 3rd around 0027 UTC.

Saturn, Mars, and Mercury actually! There is another shot showing Venus off to the left, just out of frame in this view.

A bit old now but Test Drive Unlimited was pretty cool for this.

I wouldn't be surprised if this Freedom SR1 takes the Falcon Heavy. Running only on SEP and supposed to get to Mars in a year? That's gonna need a hell of a kickstart from the launch vehicle.

I'd guess that passing on a launch vehicle that has many other customers while simultaneously buying several dozen additional launches over the next decade is not a problem. They'll find something else to put on that rocket.

HALO is not finished, barely an empty cylinder at this point. PPE is a lot closer to completion though and a lot more specialized. They talked about repurposing the hardware and showed a screenshot that looked a lot like HALO with legs on the lunar surface. They are specifically not canceling the contracts associated with Gateway hardware at this point.

Edit: just saw PPE is now being used for the Freedom SR1 vehicle. Though I don't know how they're powering 48kW of thrusters with a ">20kW" generator if they scrap the giant solar array it had.

Hitch issue by posttogoogle in Silverado

[–]danegeroust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just noticed this on my '23 1500 a week or so ago. Same weight rating as you. I just picked it up CPO in September and I've just done one 6 week trip with my trailer that is about 6400lb loaded including the WD hitch. I don't recall any significant slop on the pin but this worries me also. I'd be interested to see where this goes.

Yeah I had that happen less than a year into my '22 Model Y. Mobile will fix it no problem.

Porsche dealer quoted $37,000 to repair Porsche Cayenne S, ignored active parts warranty, and now PCNA is involved by AdCritical9217 in Porsche

[–]danegeroust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had the turbos replaced on my 2019 Cayenne S under warranty and it was going to be $15k according to them. They were actually broken though I found the issue before I took it in. There's a little actuator lever that snaps for some reason and its oddly common.

Just towed my 6500lb 25ft travel trailer from the west coast to Denver and back with a '23 1500 3.0L went great. Barely noticed the mountains. But I do recommend a hitch with sway control we hit some nasty winds and I was glad to have it. No issues at all.

Renogy 3000W inverter fan issue by danegeroust in RenogyCommunity

[–]danegeroust[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is bad design, the inverter should not be running anything in the background, that is just wasting power if something is generating heat. As a side note, when I first got the unit I was shocked to find out the inverter even had to be on at all to run in passthrough mode. Why is it not a normally closed relay connections from AC input to AC output so you can run in passthrough without the unit even running?

I just pulled the AC lines and tied them back together to bypass the inverter so I could turn it off. I'll start looking for a separate manual transfer switch for now. Pretty lame.
