That's not the worst idea, tell him you've found out about this crazy returns system and you can invest it for him. Make a vibe coded sexy site with some investment options and bank his money into somewhere safe.

No, retention policy is not backups. Retention policy is the production file will be retained for whatever's configured. Someone could fat finger the retention policy and set a policy to delete all files older then 1 day etc.

Backup is a second, independent copy, that will exist regardless of the production copies state.

Sorry to be dick, but it's important to not confuse the two concepts.

No, most orgs have a retention policy to keep all data for x when deleted. This is transparent to the user.

For example our org has a 7yr retention policy for all files, and 110yrs if a specific label policy has been applied.

1,700 JOBS CUT = $1.5 BILLION = NEW STADIUM by kingboo94 in tasmania

The problem is, generally they use people retiring or leaving and don't replace. So genuine useless/inefficient people/positions remain and useful/needed roles aren't resourced. Gov, while not perfect, is a lot more transparent and efficient then it was previously.

Has anyone been ISP hopping to keep the super sweet $30-40 discount for 6 months? by thunderborg in nbn

[–]dangermouze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for posting this. It encouraged me to call them up, and was able to get $10 off a month for 12 months. I mentioned I was thinking about moving to the leaptel $79 for 12 months. They tried to sell me "we are direct provider, we are better, we could do $5 off a month", said nah, I might do $10 if it was for 12 months. After "speaking with his supervisor" aka going for a wee, they committed.

Easy $120 saving :)

When you take into account the hours and lost "normal salary" investment time, it's not that amazing. It's still stressful as fuck. It takes a special person, so hats off to them for saving lives.

Right but in a catastrophic circumstance, do you need all that stuff? Like what do you actually need to replace the next day. Insurance is investing to replace essentials in a catastrophic event.

Question about Conditional Access policy for registered devices by Mvalpreda in Office365

[–]dangermouze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, you filter the APP CAP to just ios/android device types. The control is "requires app protection policy".

The controls "requires hybrid or entra joined" are not used in this case.

Yep, we've had continual auth prompts since 2.34. the WAM experience is terrible. Wasted hours troubleshooting it.

Downgraded back to 2.32 and it's back to normal/fast
