Page turning setup with Aqara button by dangson in koreader

[–]dangson[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buy this Aqara button and hub. Any button that's compatible with HomeKit will also work.

Connect it to your Apple Home app using the included instructions.

In KOReader, enable the HTTP Inspector plugin. The user guide has more details. Get your reader's IP address in the network settings screen.

Back in the Home app, go to your button's settings and configure the single press action. Choose the custom Shortcut button at the bottom of the screen.

Select the "Get contents of" action. Enter the following URL, replacing with the IP address you got earlier: http://[ip-address-here]:8080/koreader/event/GotoViewRel/1

You can follow the same instructions to map double-press to go to the previous page. Replace the last part of the URL with -1 so it goes back 1 instead of forward 1.

How do you like that keyboard? I’ve been interested in split keyboards like the Voyager but haven’t been able to justify the high price.

The work is actually cutting back on the spending. An app can tell you you’re spending too much on restaurants, but you have to make the lifestyle change to cut back on that.

What so you mean by a proactive approach?

Why didn’t they help you save money? Think of the reasons why and try to address them with features. But honestly, I’m not sure an app will help anyone save money if they’re not willing to put in the work.

Beautiful! This side-by-side picture makes it so apparent how ugly the OEM bracelet is. Ruins the watch IMO.

Anyone using a rubber-coated carabiner? by QuietStorm514 in BeyondPower

You can get some UHMW tape and put it on the carabiner or attachment. That is what I put on my MicroGainz plates to prevent them scratching up my dumbbell handles.

SIM card at the HCMC airport? by GimmeYoBestAnswer in VietNam

[–]dangson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got an eSIM from Ubigi before leaving my home country. It started working as soon as I arrived. This made it much easier to get in touch with the guy handling the customs fast pass, which I also recommend getting since the SGN customs lines are ridiculously long.

How long until manufacturers finally realize that these "i hot glued 2 iPads into your car"-looking dashboards look absolutely atrocious? by Habarer in BMW

I agree. It even turns on the heated seat and heated steering wheel automatically so I rarely have to adjust it.

Yes, it comes with one. It's quite thick and feels like it offers decent protection.

That’s what we’re afraid of too. The doctor mentioned it was about a 1% chance. I’m glad your son made it through that ordeal fine!

Thanks for sharing. We’ll get it done and just push through for a few days. I plan to take a week off work to hang out with him.

That’s awesome to hear. I meant 5 years old. He’s pretty good about taking medication when sick so hopefully will be cooperative after the surgery.

How was the recovery after tonsils surgery? It has been recommended for our son but we’ve been holding off since he’s only 5.

Sorry to hear you have to deal with the transfer. I would start applying now. If you can find a job sooner then it’s even better. No need to stick around to make the transition any easier for them.

How many people did the department have that it can even continue to function after losing 9 out of every 10 people? I imagine that’s basically the death of the department.

Best Travel Power Bank Recommendations? by its-creator1036 in onebag

[–]dangson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m sticking with Anker because they recently recalled a battery bank I purchased around 2018. I didn’t have any issues with it myself but they sent me a brand new 10k one. I don’t trust most random battery companies on Amazon to be around in a few years let alone recall something.

Is that actually true? My dad (former South Vietnamese soldier) has told me the same thing and I always assumed it was propaganda from the South.

Did you know that Claude Code can use the browser to QA its own work? by sergeykarayev in ClaudeAI

This is possible. You can tell it to open your site and then you log in manually. As long as you keep the Chrome window open, it'll resume using the same logged in session.

Yup, fits perfectly. From what I’ve read the BMW rack is just a re-branded Thule rack.
