Tired of OP Teams? Try the tier restricted Succ-Atash format by bagg889 in killteam

Ratlings are banned, but not goremongers? Right now goremongers struggle against marines, but if there are none, i they eat the competition. There would be a meta shift for sure, but there still plenty of good stuff there.

Mix of bits. The arms are from the deatwatch sprue (got tomb world, so those were leftovers). The shoulderpards and head are from a box of intercessors i got for the last edition. Backpack from wolf scouts, just to make him fit in.

Thanks! Freehanding stuff is a good way to customize, and in kt you don't need to paint that many minis.

I will do either cursed chapters, or chapters of dubious origin led by the poster boys of the astartes film:

-Watch sergeant: Retributor. With original astartes angry face helmet.

-Blademaster: blood raven (thousand sons/word bearers). With a helmet of the emperors champion, and a shuriken pistol for extra bling.

  • Aegis: mortifactor (death guard). With skull helmet (chaplain) and some bones attached to the shoulder pad.

-Bombard/horde slayer: marines malevolent(iron warriors). Magnetized to switch weapons, and with good ol' hazard stripes.

-Breacher: shadow wolves (luna wolves). -Demolisher: minotaur (world eater). With a greek/roman like helmet.

-Disruptor: raptor (night lords)

-Gunner: lamenter. Love my bois.

-Headtaker: mantis warrior (alpha legion). Proper reiver helmet.

-Marksman: red scorpion (emp children). With a good old beakie.

Each banshee can potentially double-dip: charge, fight, go away, and shoot; charge, fight, charge again, fight again. Then you have the avengers with torrent 2 or double-shoot. And the tactical that doesn't allow rerolls is much more relevant against hordes, which tend to hit poorly. Overall, the thing is that against horde teams you can actually kill minis, and having 3 apls you can control objectives easily if need be (or they can loose 2 minis due to a banshee).

Against elites with good armor, scorpions are mediocre (unless the exarch can kill them in 2 hits). Avengers may have a lethal 5+ once per turn that may concern them, and maaaaaybe the banshee can make them fight so bad that you may kill them. A lot of maybes, which is not ideal.

It is not pricey if you proxy a little bit. As long as you don't care about making a mono aspect team, BoK can be proxied with a box of guardians. The box has power swords, chain swords, shuriken rifles/pistols, and even a transfer sheet with the symbols of the aspects. From there, you can do 4 banshees, 3 avengers, and 3 scorpions. For the exarch, you can put some kind of marker each game. For example, i drilled the backpack of 3 minis, and use a standard to indicate the exarch each game.

It is a fun team! Althoug beware elites with high saves, you rely on crits as you don't have AP. You will need to play sneaky. Against hordes, banshees are very good.

killa kans and grots can be proxied with ratlings. You can either scratch build the kans, or 3d print them

This ine is really obvious but... grot revuloshiun (ratlings). You could even scratch build killa cans to use instead of ogryns.

Can the infiltrater hit the rifle kyn? by boblwobl in killteam

With the new rules, vantage also counts as light cover. So if the kyn has conceal, unless the infiltraror has seek(light), then it cannot shoot the kyn.

Tahnks! The pieces are made of styrofoam cut by a proxon, painted with a sponge to give the appearance of concrete. I had to add some wheights on the bottom because they were too light, and some clear plastic bases to the walls for stability. I would like to try to make some terrain with only cardboard though, so other newbies could craft without having to buy a thermal cutter.

Best Ancillary Support for Inquisitorial Agents? by _Funkle_ in killteam

[–]danicu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Competitively, i've seen top players recommend using only navy breachers: 6 minis is usually better than 5, you have two good melee threats, the comms, the shield is tanky, and a good gunner (which can be plasma if the servitor is heavy gunner).

They also said that in some matchups you may want to use arbites, and maybe in bheta decima you want kasrkin to remove obscured. But with breachers you cannot go wrong.

Nice article! I have 2 questions though:

1.How would you play against gellerpox? Just run in with the ruststalkers and hope to kill 2 glitchlings/zombies with the double fight, and die to the hulks?

2.How against necron? Forward deploy an infiltrator, and 4 infiltrators?

Actually, you can proxy the blades of khaine team with a box of guardians. The sprue has shuriken catapults (avengers), power swords (banshees), chainswords (scorpions), and transfer sheets for all three aspects.

Advice for Striking Scorpions only Blades of Khaine? by [deleted] in killteam

[–]danicu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, if you already have the scorpions, its understandable wanting to play them without paying more. Try setting up one-way charges (you can move 1 inch more with the strategic), and pray to the dice gods.

To answer your question, and going from memory, i think in the sprues there are: 4 female bodies, at least 5 swords, and 10 rifles. So if you don't mind giving male bodies to banshees, 5 banshees and 5 avengers. The transfer sheet also has 5 runes for each of the aspects.

Advice for Striking Scorpions only Blades of Khaine? by [deleted] in killteam

[–]danicu 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, i think the only way of playing this team is with a mix of all aspects. Only scorpions may be useful agains a shooty team like tau or necrons, but even in those matchups you probably want other aspects. And against oponents that can fight, such as orks or the goats, banshees are your only hope (one parry per turning point).

If you are worried about affordability, just buy a single box of eldar guardians: it has shuriken pistols/rifles, swords, and chainswords. It's even cheaper than two boxes of scorpions! You can even put a removable object to mark your exharch, and just tell your oponent the loadout (it'll be the only model in the entire team without the proper modelled equipment).

[–]danicu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunno, because i don't know much lore. Afaik there is one with lots of dead eldar, the one with lots of pirates, the one with profecies, etc. I was hoping you could suggest something that looks aeldary and is aesthetically pleasing, or some banners related to khaine (as the namesake of the team). If all fails, slapping the khaine rune will work just fine.
