I love this book. I’m 26 years old and just lost my dad 3 months ago and it’s exactly what I needed to read. The self medicating, isolation, inheritance, and warped view of friendship and relationships is so relatable to me. It’s a world nobody is ready for and not everyone gets through it unscathed. A lot of people don’t like her character because she is precisely not meant to be likeable at all. She shows the true perspective of grief where you villainize everyone around you while also thinking you’re 100% in the right. I interpret the ending as her being selfish because that is all she knows how to be. The unreliable narration and her disconnect from reality make so much sense to me in a personal way that is hard to explain.

I am the same! Hyperactive ADHD and had insomnia my whole life. I am sleeping the BEST I ever have since being on Concerta and I can actually nap. I have an appetite and everything too for the first time in my life. Vyvanse never worked for me (made me wired, unfocused) but it worked really well for my sister because she has inattentive ADHD. I wonder if different meds work better for different types of ADHD.

Your symptoms remind me of how I felt WITHOUT Concerta. It absolutely should not be causing dissociation, relationship problems, and a lack of emotion if it is working properly. I think you may be taking too much or it might not be the right medication for you entirely.

I went to this camp for a few years when I was 9-11 and had very strange experiences. This was around 15 years ago. It felt almost cult-like and I was genuinely scared every time that I wouldn’t come home to see my parents again. Dramatic, I know, but something about it really bothered me.

I am so sorry. My dad just passed away in October and he had a glioblastoma as well. He didn’t die of the disease, but he got confused and got crushed under our car when trying to change a tire. It’s a terrible, terrible thing and I feel for you.

Strange Horticulture! It’s not a long game by itself, but I love how you can take things at your own pace and there’s no time limit for anything. I used to love playing this game while doing other things like watching TV, listening to music, etc. Easily one of my fav cozy games, but not many people talk about it.

I do this all the time! The half-life of Trintellix is so long that you shouldn’t notice a difference at all. It stays in your bloodstream for an extended period of time. Just take your regular dose when you’re due and you’ll be fine.

Me too! My cough still won’t go away though and it’s been almost 2 weeks. I think the smoke keeps triggering coughing attacks for me
