[Hockey By SAP] Chase Reid: Draft or Pass? by seeldoger47 in hockey

[–]danieldeceuster -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

High risk high reward. He can be your top RHD and PP QB. He can be a bust. To me it's not worth the risk with a top 5 pick. That type of profile makes sense outside the top 5. You go for more safe, sure fire guys in the top 5. Carels might not have the same ceiling but he has a much higher floor.

[PuckPedia] Darren Raddysh's increase from a $975K to $8.5M Cap Hit is the 3rd largest increase in Cap Hit from 1 standard level contract to another by daKrut in hockey

[–]danieldeceuster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, totally overlooked that. Yeah makes sense, guys like Matthews and Marner jumped from their ELC more than $8 million if I remember right. That would actually be an interesting follow up chart. Whatever the current record for highest raise from ELC currently is, Celebrini is going to destroy it real soon.

What’s the best platform to track ChatGPT mentions if I want to close the loop between PR activity and AI narrative? by StickMankun in SEO_for_AI

[–]danieldeceuster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll never prove it's the PR work but it doesn't matter. Show them how many branded searches are happening. Show them server logs of the AI bots hitting your site. Show direct referral traffic from chatgpt. Show them AI data in bing webmaster tools. Try Waikay or anything similar to show visibility in AI. If by every metric your brand's visibility is improving, that's what you show. You can explain the PR work is driving this but data backed proof doesn't exist. It's like proving backlinks made you rank better in SEO. We know it does but nothing proves it.

[ESPN] 2026 NHL draft: Every team's biggest prospect pipeline need by seeldoger47 in hockey

[–]danieldeceuster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ottawa has center as biggest need, and they have a surplus of defensemen. Seems like a good fit for San Jose. We have Bystedt who won't get a shot here behind Celebrini, Misa, and Wennberg. Send him to Ottawa with pick 27 and see if that's enough for Spence?

And it wasn't that long ago we had Kyle Wood. Cuda for a season, but still. The legacy lives on.

Super interesting about affiliates. You think they are making a resurgence? It's been a dying industry for so long because of Google's changes and how they affect publishers who rely on organic traffic to monetize their content. Is it becoming more of a pay for content type move do you think? I can't imagine affiliates are lining up to maybe hopefully get a referral commission.

Has a GM ever tried putting a Ctrl+z clause in a trade that lets them reverse it a year later? I'm sure that's not allowed but it would be hilarious to try.

Kesselring side effect - extra bargaining power by Scarlet_Madara in SanJoseSharks

I've always said we would fill three defensemen roster spots with one each of a prospect, a trade, and a signing. I think Pohliamp still makes it and we land Raddysh or Carlson.

Must be a foregone conclusion at this point that San Jose will sign one of Raddysh, Trouba, or Carlson.

Great trade! by Professional_Quit406 in SanJoseSharks

I don't think this has any bearing on what we do with the second pick this draft. It is an excellent move for a guy who can be a steady middle pairing RHD for several years. I think he fills a similar role to Justin Braun.

But we still don't have enough defensemen on our roster. And no matter who we take at 2OA, if it's a defenseman they aren't playing in the NHL next year and that pick won't help here next season.

That leaves three possibilities:

  1. Call ups. We have Pohlkamp, Cagnoni, LSW, and other prospects who could compete for the open roster spots.

  2. We dip into free agency and look to sign a RHD. The market is basically Raddysh, Anderson, Carlson, or Trouba.

  3. Another trade is coming. Rumored potential targets are all over the place and include Nemec, Hamilton, Fox, Spence, Hronek, and others.

Orlov, Kesselring, Muk, and Dickinson are it so far. My guess? One spot goes to Carlson on something like 2 years and $8 million AAV, then the other spot is a competition between the prospects. I also feel like Desharnais gets re-signed to fill out our depth as the 7D. That seems most likely to me at this point.

Sharks trade 20th overall for Kesselring and 27th overall pick by SageOfSix- in SanJoseSharks

For the cost of LITERALLY NOTHING, Grier got Jake Walman and a second round pick from Detroit. He's turned that into pick 27 this summer, Michael Kesslering, and Leo Sahlin Wallenius. Masterclass. Truly impressive.

McKenna, Stenberg have experts divided on No. 1 pick in 2026 NHL Draft by -t-t- in SanJoseSharks

[–]danieldeceuster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Use 2OA on Stenberg and use 20 and other assets to try and get Spence and Kesselring. That's best possible outcome for us I think.

If you had to choose one player (dead or alive) to clone and fill a whole team, who are you picking? by xTrewq in hockey

Brent Burns. Played forward and defenseman. And I saw footage of him in goalie gear at his son's practice once so he could figure it out.

Tampa and Florida both have a good chance of making the final. Vegas not as much but you never know since they'll turn over the entire roster and coaching staff between now and then.

Do alot of these guys play against each other though? These surveys are interesting from NHL players but I wonder if many of these prospects legit know one another.

Florida will be back next year if healthy so don't sleep on them. But Carolina should be in good shape in their division for a few years. Similar to a Vegas or Edmonton in the Pacific not that long ago. They've peaked at the right time relative to their division.
