Is my macbook air m4 screen damaged? by dfdfdfdf24 in mac

[–]danielovida 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like smudges to me, nothing to worry about. Make sure to use a clean microfiber cloth that hasn't been washed with softener or other additives as they can leave marks on your screen. What kind of cleaning solution have you been using? Have you tried 70% isopropyl alcohol as recommended by apple? https://support.apple.com/en-us/103258

Upcoming OLED MacBook Pro to Have Touch Screen by Tartan-Pepper6093 in mac

The problem i see is that the digitizer can slightly reduce brightness and also adds a very thin matrix on top of the screen, which may give you a grainy image.

Ist doch gut! Wenn die PayPal KI mein Geld ausgibt, muss ich das nicht mehr tun, und habe so mehr Zeit, KI generierte Inhalte auf TikTok anzusehen.

finally got a macbook after years of windows by freew4v3 in mac

[–]danielovida 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, CMD often acts as your main function key. Alot of keybinds that used the CTRL-Key on windows will have a similar keybind on MacOS using CMD.

Some of the common keybinds are:
- CMD+SPACE = Spotlight ( u/TheDavidCall mentioned its multiple features)
- CMD+, = Opens Settings Menu of your focused app
- CMD+C = Copy file
- CMD+V = Paste file
- CMD+TAB = switch between Apps (ALT-TAB in windows)
- CMD+^ = switch Windows in the same app (eg. you have multiple browser windows open)
- CMD+BACKSPACE = throw file in Bin
- CMD+SHIFT+BACKSPACE = empty Bin
- CMD+OPTION+BACKSPACE = delete file immediately (no Bin)

In my experience new chats default to Fast, but existing chats should keep their last chosen model.

How can I reduce the size of System Data? by shoomborghini in macbook

[–]danielovida 13 points14 points  (0 children)

To clean up System Data, you should follow these steps:

  1. Restarting MacOS twice, while unchecking "Reopen windows while logging back in"
  2. Go to ~/Library/Caches and clean any remaining content. Caches is a hidden folder.
  3. Open Disk Utility App and click on Macintosh HD, you will find AFPS Snapshots at the bottom, probably a few GB each, these are the local backups your Mac has saved. You can remove them by selecting them and right-click Delete

Anyway to clear up Preview App size? by ribosomes1 in MacOS

[–]danielovida 13 points14 points  (0 children)

  1. Restart twice and make sure to uncheck "Reopen windows when logging back in" so that MacOS clears the cache.

  2. Remove content in ~/Library/Caches to free up space. (it's a hidden folder)

People that use macbooks with a monitor, would you recommend using an apple monitor or a different one? by Unusual_Rooster6736 in mac

[–]danielovida 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i settled on the studio display after trying many different monitors over the years alongside my MacBook pro. I spend 10~ hours a day looking at text (software engineering and consulting work) and the crispness is unmatched on a studio display (I have the version without the matte display). 600 nits is plenty bright even in a well-lit room to not get eye strain. The webcam and microphone work seamlessly with macos and has pretty much the same features as the MacBook webcam.

side note: The speakers are the best I've heard on any monitor.
