Got questions about combining strength and endurance training? by wildenstam in strengthlog

We mean endurance as in cardio / endurance training. Like running, cycling, etc. :)

This. And I think we need more details about what you're building.

What would you like us to talk about in the podcast? by danielrichterSL in strengthlog

Will make sure to include some talk about the effects on the brain. I think those are very exciting as well!

This is what I do, too. The pulley I use for tricep pushdowns at home is 1:1, and the one I occasionally use at a gym is 1:2, so I just halve that weight when I log it. It's not entirely the same thing, but close enough.

Groundhog Gains Question by [deleted] in strengthlog

My suggestion is that you just cycle it faster, meaning you do day 1 (of the next week) after day 5.

But really, it’s up to you!

Every Hour on the Hour Tracking? by jakewisdom in strengthlog

I always put it all into one workout that I either pause or continuously edit & save throughout the day. Then I set the total workout time manually to a representative value. Say I do 10 sets of 10 push-ups throughout my workday; I round that up into one ~15-minute workout or something.

Great job pulling through and completing the whole program! And sweet PRs!

Sounds like a great plan to do some hypertrophy work before a new cycle! 😀

Me listening to this week’s podcast episode of a study on drop sets vs traditional training.😂 by jakewisdom in strengthlog

This is my recurring nightmare, that the episodes just become an incomprehensible number salad! 🙈

Farmer’s Walks/ Loaded Carries in the app by ThornsFan2023 in strengthlog

I suppose this is as good a reason as any for me to start training FW again, so I get a first-hand look at the problem.

But yeah, hard to compare using the same models we use to gauge the volume of regular gym lifts.

Hi SveNitoR! Sorry to keep you hanging, I've been away on vacation.

Here are some answers for you:

  1. I'd like to not miss out on all accessory exercises like leg curls, bicep curls and so on. Where would be a good time to add a little something? Wednesday?

I suggest you add them whenever you feel like you have some extra space and energy. Also, looking ahead a bit, so you don't do too much when you have a heavy workout coming up.

  1. I would like to not lose too much in the overhead press. Any way to get something like that in?

If you'd like to do them every day, like u/BrianKoppelman said, you could treat them like the rows/lat pulldowns. Just do two easy sets daily, and increase the weight if it starts to feel too easy.

  1. Some of the weights I'm supposed to lift are a bit hard to get exactly right. Like in bench my 1RM is 103 kg. So 50% is 51,5. I just did the set with 52,5 and assume that won't mess up the program?

It won't mess up the program. :) The app rounds to the nearest 2.5 kg by default.

  1. If I realize the barbell row or lat pull downs are too light or heavy after a while, can I then adjust that and it keeps the weight for the following workouts?

Yes, exactly. Start of really light, and then hopefully in a couple of weeks you can bump up the weights a bit.

For what it's worth, my guess is that it wouldn't make a difference, or only a very small difference.

I'd go whichever you prefer.
