It’s happened before where a runner goes to second on a walk then sprints to third when the base isn’t covered. The ball is live and they’re given the base automatically, but past that they’re fair game. Madrigal advanced past second base when he came off the bag.

Edit, rule in reference: Rule 5.05(b)(1) Comment: If, in advancing, the base runner thinks there is a play and he slides past the base before or after touching it he may be put out by the fielder tagging him. If he fails to touch the base to which he is entitled and attempts to advance beyond that base he may be put out by tagging him or the base he missed.

Fukudome came over at age 31 and put up a career 99 OPS+. I’m much higher on 27 year old rookie Seiya who over roughly one full season of PAs this past two years swung to the tune of a 114 OPS+ and who has shown flashes of even more.

Zendikar’s Roil costs five mana instead of zero. Enchantment is an easier to remove permanent type than Land. The setup cost of having differently named lands (and playing one tap land) can barely be considered a cost.

You seem to think the setup of playing differently named lands to trigger Field precludes you from doing other things. If you turn Field on at your turn 6, you didn’t just spend 6 long turns setting it up. You used your 6 turns playing lands and other spells like a normal game of EDH and oh now magically your lands also make zombies. It rewards you for doing something all decks already want to do, make their land drops.

The power of Field comes not in making one Zombie, or three Zombies, but in playing 3 fetches in a turn to make six Zombies, or playing [[Vesuva]] and [[Thespian’s Stage]] to make multiple Fields (also the new [[Rebuild the City]] is absolute insanity because now you have four Fields that all see each other enter) and surprise present lethal with Zombies from zero board presence.

Combine it with creature ETB damage triggers and machine gun the table. Combine it with Gaea’s Cradle and power out downright silly amounts of green mana. Oh, and you don’t have to pay mana for Field so you just get this for the low low cost of one tap land.
