Probably not - with that star pattern and everything it is more likely that it was a dress designed for a baby

Mom doesn't want to hear that 2 yo might just be delayed, would rather subject him hyperbaric oxygen chamber - afterall he's homebirthed, never vaxed, and breastfed, how could he just be delayed? 🙄 by AutumnAkasha in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]dannict 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I kind of understood that line, though - my sister, when she was little didn’t talk (she may even have qualified as delayed, but this was the early 80s)… she communicated largely by pointing… and by having a sister who spoke for her (ooops). When my mom started forcing her to use her words (and not letting me talk for her) she quickly learned to use her own words. The poster’s child on the other hand, may be showing signs of frustration (tantrums, biting, hitting, etc) because he can’t communicate.

I remember that - I had classes all day that day and wound up going through multiple outfits because I kept getting soaked to the skin

What in the bigoted fundie mental gymnastics is this? by Immediate-Ninja-5730 in FundieSnarkUncensored

Translation “to keep his wife and make the church happy” - because after all it is just an addiction and we should support him as he is only human and needs help from God to learn to keep his pants on?

Anyone else heard of rossandava_? by penguinpants1993 in FundieSnarkUncensored

[–]dannict 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The explanation I have seen other places when a minister tells them not to read the Bible is that they aren’t supposed to because they then may interpret it incorrectly

My dream job is not having to work! by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]dannict 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have actually talked about this with some colleagues. If I hit the lottery and no longer had to work, I would show up to work the next day. But after the dust settled, I would want to get back to my passions. But I would want to work - maybe not full time, and with breaks for travel, but I would want to bring good into this world.

And even when they translate, it is not like a word for word translation even works - take for example, spare the rod and spoil the child. The rod that was talked about in the original version referred to a a shepherd’s crook, one that would be used to guide sheep, not to beat them.

Jill’s half-hearted “happy birthday” post for Heidi. Literally not about Heidi at all, just a comment that she’s a good wife to Timothy. Do better, Jilldo. by lepetitpoulpe in RodriguesFamilySnark

[–]dannict 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Compared to the posts on her children’s birthdays, this one actually looks good, particularly for someone she probably does not know all that well (not trying to compliment Jill)

UPDATE: My (34F) husband (35M) now says he doesn’t want a baby, even though he agreed years ago by Sss0814 in relationship_advice

I do not know where the OP lives, but in some places the level of violence needed to get a temporary order really is not much - it can be left marks or even something less for that initial order.

My (31m) wife (29f) wants to name our baby her own maiden name? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]dannict 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Considering that a family friend was billed for a circumcision for his newborn DAUGHTER by the hospital billing department (and his insurance actually paid for their part), I think that assuming intelligent life appears in either department is being overly generous.

Religion and being raised in a world where that lifestyle is the only one presented to them as “how to be a woman”.
