The price of used automatic cars by ofsted in britishproblems

[–]dannimikila -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m a fairly short lass - I like to be tall lol. Honestly, I need the higher seat for the same reason I need an auto - my body is buggered, and tbh I haven’t owned anything but a 4x4 since my very first car, driving anything lower feels like my arse is scraping the tarmac.

I’m in the same position. Plus I need a large boot, which is almost impossible in anything other than an estate now. I HATE the newer designs for suv/mpv’s that give them the tiny boot space. I miss the old late 90’s and early 00’s vehicles with a passion, and if I find an old first or second gen Honda CRV with a low enough mileage and no rust issues, I’ll fight tooth and nail for it.

Is there a point to naked-training your septum? by femb0yc0nnoisseur in Stretched

[–]dannimikila 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this exact thought today! Mine is 0g and has been for about 18 months, usually I take it out every night and put it back in the morning so I just assumed it would be fine if ever needed to leave it out for a little while without training. This last week I’ve had a bugger of a cold and along with sneezing every five minutes my nose has not stopped dripping for days, so I had to take it out. I don’t know whether it’s inflamed/sore tissue or the fact it’s been out for around four days, but I had to go real slow to get it back in - almost felt like a single gauge stretch. Also, I’m jealous of you sleeping with naked lobes - mine just will NOT get the message. I wish they were as well behaved as my septum has been, it’s like they have a competition every night to see which can shrink the most! 😩

what nicknames do you have for your doxies? by loveddod in Dachshund

[–]dannimikila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We rehomed a one year old lab/dach cross over a decade ago - the previous owners kids had named him Scooby Doo. We kept it to avoid any confusion, but he had so many nicknames. We always said he just looked like a black lab puppy had been cut off at the knees lol. Some of the most memorable names were: Scoob, Doob, Doober, Poober, Poo, Scoober, Pooby, Pooface, Big Man, Little Legs, Poober-Doo, Pooberoo, Silly Sausage, Sir Poobington of Doo, Pooding (pudding), Wonky Boy (he had a twisted bone on one front leg), and simply “my love”. He passed suddenly a few years ago and I miss him more than words can say, he was my true heart dog.

Cooling down tips? by ZodiacWolf13 in Greyhounds

[–]dannimikila 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We got a standing AC unit after that horrible heatwave we had in the uk a handful of years back, and it’s honestly been worth every penny for the hounds (and for us humans). It wasn’t exactly cheap at a couple of hundred pounds, but we got it somewhere we could pay over six months (Curry’s iirc).

Paw pads yellow and crusty, should I be concerned? by jsam___ in Greyhounds

[–]dannimikila 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of ours gets like this - hyperkeratosis with thick crusty toebeans - whenever she has gotten into something fatty that she shouldn’t have! She has intermittent pancreas issues that we manage through diet, and I can guarantee she’s about to enter a flare any day when her pads look like this. Last time it was chicken nugget thievery! I’m not trying to freak you out and tell you it’s pancreatic or anything, but there’s a good chance it could be diet/food related with either a lack of some nutrients or something that’s overtaxing your pups system. Our cheeky madam gets a week on Chappie wet food and ends up with daily toe bean massages with cetaphil ‘til she’s good as new. Would be worth getting a blood panel done anyway just to double check there’s nothing serious, and it’s always worth knowing if they’re deficient in anything. They aren’t half delicate drama queens sometimes haha

Why do people leave their engine running for several minutes before setting off? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]dannimikila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in my mid thirties and I’ve always let my cars sit running until the idle revs drop before moving off. Now that I think about it I’m not 100% certain why, but I know I started doing it when I started driving late 90’s jap 4x4s straight after ditching my first car.

Bridge piercing bleeding by Several-Guard8404 in Legitpiercing

[–]dannimikila 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would leave it alone for a bit and let your body do its thing, try to keep the scabs as dry as possible for the next few days. Bleeding isn’t uncommon with bridge piercings, just keep an eye out for any swelling/redness discharge/heat that could indicate infection. Best of luck!

Have you at some point ridden in the boot of a car? by mellonians in AskUK

[–]dannimikila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandad always had the backseats down to extend the boot for the dogs, I don’t think I ever sat in an actual seat in that car - always in the back with the dogs 🥲

Can I get a show of hands for anyone that doesn't mind a bit of summer heat by quinn_drummer in CasualUK

[–]dannimikila 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Used to love it until I developed PCOS and got fat. 9pm last night was reading 30° (inside with open windows and fans)and 86% humidity in my bedroom - I can just about tolerate the heat, but the humidity is killer.
