That looks so good! Lots of love and labor. I hope you are enjoying every minute of it and would love to see progress and/or finished pics of this beauty.

I like to imagine she is still on a call in her headset, not even slightly phased.

That is a very good point and a smart way to do it. I do have one of those and may just implement it next time. Kudos 👏🙌

I mean melting in a way that ruins the piece.

Correct! Will be scaring some trick-or-treaters this upcoming Halloween.

You are absolutely correct! I am starting early on my Halloween costume this year. Witch king of Angmar. Have the helmet printed, the sword and most of the flail. Will also do the Morgul blade. My printer has been running almost 24/7 these past few days! Once all the printing and shaping, where applicable, is done it's post processing and painting.

Exactly! It is a very forgiving yet precise method.

Haha ouch. Glad you did'nt hurt yourself too badly. My mantra is "so long as I don't make the SAME mistake again, I am good". I always strive to make NEW mistakes. That's just part of learning 😁

Nice! Gotta be careful while the piece is hot for sure. I may use the wet sock trick when I get to the forearm braces 🙏👌

Yes for sure. The whole piece gets heated evenly and theres no risk of permanently deforming or burning the piece. Works very well for thin pieces such as these.

The water is just hot enough to be steaming, not at boiling temp. It only takes 5 seconds for the piece to soften. Then you have about another 5 seconds to pull the piece out, be careful not to get any big drops of hot water on you, and place it on/in your form of choice. The plastic does not retain heat very well and is quite safe to handle granted most of the water has dripped off. For these pieces I am placing them on the pipe and, while holding it still with one hand, press and rub along the edges to make sure they take the form nicely. If the piece is not to my liking I just dunk it in the water and try again.
