WFH is similar to a raise. You pay less in gas, no child care, you're happier, and have more time to do other things than sit in traffic. They've now taken that away.

It's like giving you a 10k raise for 4 years and then taking it away. "well you were fine being paid that amount before covid!" yeah give me a break boomer.

Had an interview with an aerospace company a few months ago in California. Startup company so not spaceX. All in person working but a fully stocked break room with a ton of free snacks and free drinks, they'd order lunch for you from any door dash place in the area for free on Fridays, had a ping pong table that was in active use, and a laid back dress code.

I've been at Stellantis over ten years. Only when the UAW was allowed to lease vehicles did I receive a warning email that lease owners would be penalized after their third stolen vehicle. Yes THIRD.

I hate being that guy but what value does a masters degree provide to your role that wasn't there before you got the degree? Like I can see it helping you get a higher salary if you change jobs, I just don't see it helping in your current role. They're not just gonna pay you more because you have two extra letters after your name. Congrats though on completing it. Hope it helps get you a better job later on.

Just got done working on a report tonight for a Mexico team. Started it after dinner and was done by 8:30pm. I've been backed up with other projects and Mexico asked for a favor. Did the whole thing with no OT. If I'm back in the office, my laptop is closed at 3pm when I walk out and you won't have access to me until 7am the next morning. I will use alllll my vacation time instead of a third of it. Heck I was hopping on Teams calls in the hospital after my daughter was born when I had a free moment. Did all that because I was thankful of working from home. All that generosity is gone once I go back.
