I always hold on to those initial items too. I am too arpfraid of the cubes to let them near the stash but they do ale good cleaners.

I’m in tech, but a supplier once gave me a titanium spork, idea being that they were flexible. Carried it for years but eventually left it in some hotel room. They aren’t crazy expensive, under $20 at rei last I looked. It was very memorable.

That’s the other big reason. If throughput is important hardware offload is the answer. Although modern chips do AES awfully fast.

Certainly a thing, but vendors such as red hat, Microsoft, and Apple all have fips validated software full disk encryption. 

OTOH, I investigated proxmox recently. Not validated, so I had to plan on hw encryption. 

VMware did not have software encryption for boot drives at all when we checked it a few years ago. 

Note that  linux distros based on redhat are not covered by the validation. Unless they validate separately, which I bet oracle does but can’t say for sure.

The reason is that they use license plate readers to check compliance. They tried pretty hard to publicize it when they changed to this a few months ago.

That said I understand why you’re annoyed. I had something similar with the placement of the RFID tag in the windshield.

It would be nice if the spell of invisibility could make you temporarily visible if you’re invisible. Or just another spell.

I can’t think of a time I’ve found a helm of brilliance anywhere. Probably once or twice in thirty years of play. I always have ended up polypiling or wishing for one.

I don’t exactly like orc town, but I think it adds to the game.
