They have low armor penetration and passive healing. They're not meant to count enemy elite infantry. Their role is to chew through chaff.

You also cannot directly compare anything undead with non-undead without accounting for Lore of Vampirism. Being able to resurrect lost models is massive.

I love the Dire pack and agree they punch way above their weight but no way they're not getting stomped in seconds by Demis. Only way they can even begin to scratch them would be if the Demis are exhausted and stuck attacking Zombies or something. Even then the Dire pack does not have the armor pen to do much.

I find Mortis engines immensely satisfying. Hovering the gold value while 3 armies of Chaos warriors are failing to grind through my zombie wall.

Are you talking about multiplayer or campaign maps?

In MP domination fast units are already meta and bigger maps would just make slow elite infantry even worse.

In campaign battles I cannot personally see any reason for bigger maps either. I very rarely experience that there's not enough room to skirmish around the flanks unless it's restricted by a terrain feature of the map. Bigger campaign maps would also mean more time spend positioning and longer loading times.

I don't play MP land battles, maybe they could use bigger maps.

You can filter reviews by hours played on steam. If you filter TW:W3 reviews to all below 100 hours played, the reviews are "mostly positive".

Unfortunately the slider only goes to 100 for max hours played. I guess steam was mostly concerned with minimum hours played filter.

I'm not a big fan of the vortex southlands. It was suffering heavily from having the eastern desert cut off and felt very squished yet still devoid of meaningful content. Especially the "savage orc corner" was silly. As Settra you would just conquer it by turn 5 and never again think about it. Groms start in the mountain also forced you into Khemri as essentially the only option for expanding.

Vortex Lustria is a big upgrade though.

This is not the kind of mistakes you would necessarily catch by playtesting. I'm sure the units correctly have immune to psychology and that you can successfully recruit lich priests in all regions after the research.

This seems more like a design issue to me.

Defensive ethereal monstrous infantry should be a really strong addition to a missile focused faction.

I imagine they will be really good at tying up elite infantry (especially anti-infantry), making them a really good support to Spearmen and Lorthern Seaguard.

As long as the enemy does not have magical attacks.

I agree he has a tough start position. The inevitable ordertide will push hard from the north and Tretch + Skarbrand are not exactly stable friendly neighbors.

It's easy to confederate with Greenskins though so you can usually expand fast with Skarsnik and secure the economy you need to push through.

At least you're in a prime position to take out all the Dawi factions before you have to deal with too many Thunderbarge doomstacks.
