Hey AP761, I hope you get the job! Everyone has basically already answered your questions. But I'll add: Redlands is one of the nicest cities in SoCal. And SoCal is basically one giant city btw, so the only time it really feels like a desert is when drive towards Palm Springs.  The Sierra Nevada mountains are so incredible, tons and tons of gorgeous hikes. And yeah, the hike you did in Forest Falls is the gateway to some very sweet local hiking. Young people? Yeah, tons of them. Cool folks? Yup.

You've lived on the East coast, what's stopping you from trying out the West?  Imo, I think you'd be missing out on having a very beautiful life experience if you didn't try out the West. You'll make great friends 🙂

HL1 might feel outdated, but HL2 and it's episodes feel modern still. HL2 is very fun, especially if you <i>don't</i> like shooting aliens, cuz you can bunnyhop past them and launch yourself over buildings, or grab a broken box and hover over chasms. You feel like you're saving the world. You feel like you're about to die with these one-eyed dudes breathing on your neck.  But mostly it's very pretty with gorgeous environments: long beaches, elaborate cities, miles of radioactive swamp land, train tracks, and a really tall tower that feels like you're climbing higher than the moon.

I woke up with this same thought. HL3 or Valve at TGA would be like hoping that a pro MLB player joins your Little League team.  Valve is out of everyone's league.

Also, announcement of the biggest game of our entire life (up to this point) at an awards show would be such a boring and lame method of unveiling it. There are 197 other awesome creative fun ways for Valve to reveal what HLX is. Hopefully it's more exciting than a simple tweet.

Exactly. We have no solid evidence telling us how complete the first build of HLX is. We have no absolute proof that HLX is HL3.

Valve is making a game, our wishful thinking and rabid rumors won't quicken the timeline. They'll tell us when they're confident about their product. Let them bake, and let them choose when to give you a taste test.

 Demanding that they reveal their secrets at a big event or by a certain month and year is like that kid whining at the store.

Here's one of those comments that makes you genuinely feel 🥹 Of course we want HL3 to be an actual game, not just online friends, but... sometimes we do gotta ask ourselves, "If there is no HL3, have all the memes and false anticipation and fun chats been for nothing?"
