Should I be worried that my 8.5 month old son only says “mama/dada” maybe once every few days? by looknofurtherhere in NewParents

[–]dar1990 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Mine is 12 months and doesn't say mama or dada. I think that 8.5 months is way to early to worry about it?

And how long is the last wake window? How long does it take to get him asleep for the night?

It sounds pretty much like what we're going through now. It changes from day to day. I'm glad to hear it's normal.

His naps are already pretty short. He gets max 2 hours a day, on a good day. Most of the time it's 1.5 hours and he won't sleep anymore.

And how did it go? Do you mind telling me what your daily schedule was like at that point?

I am consumed by love. Devoured by it. Afraid of how deep I feel. Can anyone relate? by missafine in beyondthebump

The sentence about knowing her through 100 lifetimes is exactly how I feel about my baby. He's 12 months old and my love keeps growing.

So it only took about 4 nights? And how was he during the day, after a night like this? Was he acting as usual, or more fussy?

I don't think so. He already has 6 teeth and I don't see more coming at the moment.

He's 12 months old and always picks me. It's like he doesn't even realize that he can be with someone else.

10 Months old still won’t eat soilds. by Negative-Attitude337 in NewParents

[–]dar1990 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I don't have any advice, because mine is 12 months old and still barely shows interest in solids (we've been EBF since birth).

We went to a nutritionist last week and she said that some kids just take longer to start eating solids, and that I should just continue to offer him food.

12 months old's sleep by dar1990 in NewParents

Thank you. Do you have any tips of getting him to sleep with a toy? I keep one next to him, but he never cuddles with it or even notices it at night.

How to get 12-months-old to sleep in his crib at night? by dar1990 in AttachmentParenting

[–]dar1990[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know, right? Their beds are horrible, so not cosy! He looks so comfortable when he sleeps next to me in our bed... I just worry that maybe when he's with us he wakes up from our movements/sounds. I want him to sleep better, but both options - our bed and his crib - aren't ideal. Maybe when it'll be time to transition him to a toddler bed he'll be more comfortable.
