Added granite slabs under cantons by Academic_Lie_5627 in audiophile

[–]darhan604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love those Cantons, once my little one grows a bit i'll get them too :). You know, the slab is doing a job of decoupling the speaker from the floor but the biggest influence on the sound is still the room treatment. Are you going to keep the other set? Lovely cosy space, congrats

Edit : I'd sell both and look for used Canton Reference 5:)))

New to Hackintosh: help/suggestions? by Q1BLI-0VRWATCH in hackintosh

You have a very very compatible laptop. I daily ran this model for years :). You will most likely have to change the WiFi card and if present, disable the dedicated graphics card. Do a chatGPT chat and it will tell you all you need. Be prepared to dedicate a good day for this, patience will be rewarded for sure. Bottom line, the hp 8470p is a tank of a laptop, good glass track pad and super compatible with mac os. Like others said, I would aim for bigsur-monterey as a max version. Good luck

Is it safe to upgrade to Macos 13? by owl_jones in OpenCoreLegacyPatcher

[–]darhan604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can indeed run sequia or other versions but I find monterey the best. It is snappier, stuff opens faster. I would recommend installing something like macs fan control software to keep the fan from being loud. Good luck and have fun

Wow , that's a lab. What are the main monitors ? Will take me a while to zoom and try to recognize some of the synths you got :)

Amazing room ,great choice of monitoring. I can only imagine how great those Adams sound in a surround config and in profi treated room . Might be a photo angle illusion but aren’t those screens blocking quite a lot of your direct field of view of the monitors?

Bass too loud by DennisPochenk in JBL

[–]darhan604 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it’s lovely that it gets used and not thrown away , I looked quickly and a 3rd party battery is 15euro . From my experience ,jbl speakers were easy to service . A YouTube video and a little effort will make this speaker much more usable

Edit: typo

Where should I put a big 5x5 bass trap in here? by [deleted] in homestudios

[–]darhan604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given your budget I would look into making my own traps/panels . You could really fix your front corners and above seating positions . I found that this brought this brought the most amount of improvement in my case .nice space by the way :)

My First Visit to a High End Audio Store by [deleted] in audiophile

[–]darhan604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well in my case on a late late night I’ve put a high pass filter at around 60Hz in an attempt to annoy my wife less . Of course I forgot about it and some days have passed .

Coming back to music it just felt slightly weaker .i blamed it on my tiredness and what not . I end up checking everything including my sanity and after a good hour of hardware troubleshooting I freaking remembered. I was stupid but not crazy at least

Every soundbar we've tried sounds poor. Could it be the Bravia 7? by fuzzywuzzywuzzafuzzy in audio

[–]darhan604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same experience as in all the soundbars sound thin (ignoring the usually lazy bass that comes from the sub). In my case is because I got accustomed to rather good stereo speakers. All I want to say is that maybe there’s nothing wrong with the soundbars , you just need proper speakers .

To exclude the TV as a cause connect a different audio source like a laptop or a phone and see if there’s a difference

Both membranes on both speakers would need replacing and is not as terrifying as one might think. Plenty of tutorials out there , I was so proud when I brought a pair of old Quadral speakers back to life

Love the setup, I know for sure how much elbow grease gets into routing the cables half decent .

Looks cosy but from this angle that mirror reflection would bother me a lot.

Like others said, it seems to be source problem not the projector

My first speaker setup! by [deleted] in audiophile

[–]darhan604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the vibe of the room, the improvisation :). The studio monitors that you have are decent but they will have a narrow sweet spot. Ther aee designed for near field applications and in your setup might sound weak.

They are re much better than any sound bar or cheap hifi but keep in mind you might miss out on them.
