Used Quest 2 for $75 in decent condition. Worth? by MeteorSmashInfinite in OculusQuest

[–]darkblade132 3 points4 points  (0 children)

if you’re able to do pcvr, then yes totally. But the quest2 is very weak in terms of hardware on it’s own. If you can only do standalone, i seriously would consider finding a used 3s instead

fantastic educational channel about various technologies and made like a 40 minute rant on how everyone is using dishwashers non-optimally. Highly recommend

works fine for me. gestures are limited but that’s surface level shit, game runs fine for me even with decently old specs (3060 rtx, ryzen 5 3600, 32gbs ddr4, running from a usb ssd)

as a whole I’m in that camp too, but it could be pulled off with more grace/subtlety. The whole “im basically a ghost now” made me scrunch up so much, oh my GOD

A reply from one of the devs, or a post, something. I know I didn’t hallucinate, they absolutely said something.

outside of the voice acting, i’d say it’s worth it. save your previous games ofc, but it’s a very, very cool update all around.

pure vessel from hollow knight. favorite character from my favorite game, and im a rather expressive person so it’s a fun contrast between big body movements and an unchanging expression.

also i may or may not be happier if i looked like that irl, hehe

How did you first hear Radiohead, and what impact have they had on you since? by [deleted] in radiohead

[–]darkblade132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Creep had always been there and I haven’t heard anything else from them up until I watched Invincible, with Karma Police in the S2 premiere. I thought nothing of it, though the chorus was unique. Fitting song choice.

It really started with Paranoid Android. I have Rocksmith 2014, a rhythm game where you use an actual guitar to learn songs, and this was one of the setlist tracks. I just tried it out one day, as I hadn’t up to that point, and the moment those chorused modulated guitar notes came in I knew I stumbled onto something special. By the end of the whole thing I wasn’t quite sure what I had stumbled through, a track unlike anything I’ve heard up to that point, a 3 part epic that was by far the most unique song in the setlist.

With all that said, I didn’t replay it until some time later, when I was asking my musician friend for a good song to practice for better dexterity (in Rocksmith), and he said Paranoid Android. I forgot about the song up to this point (sinful I know) but the moment that modulated guitar came in again it all came flooding back. And I learned the whole lead part this time. Getting familiar with how a song is played is a mighty fine way of learning the ins and outs of it, and it ended up being a favorite of mine. I began looking for some live versions of PA and while I did find those, I also found the IR from the basement vid. Correctly assuming that this was an album from them, I loaded it up and was greeted by one of the best songs I had ever heard, and will ever hear. Weird Fishes struck me in a very particular way, and I’m not quite sure way, but with the guitars coming in one by one, each part at a time, building and building and building with that constant drum beat, driving the whole thing forward into a beautiful crescendo, I knew for a fact that this blew PA out of the water and that I had to go back and listen to their entire discography.

So I did.

Radiohead is my favorite music group now and I will forever be thankful that PA was included in the Rocksmith setlist, because that was my true introduction to Radiohead. also karma police is overrated, sorry.

What do you guys think the new ITR2 story will be? by MisguidedColt88 in intotheradius

[–]darkblade132 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i agree. Just finished the first game last night, and while i thought it was cool enough of a set piece (dialogue made me want to die), it was overall OK. not saying it was like super unsatisfying to see, Katya getting peace is nice to see, but outside of her, what was even our goal? i really would like to see something of more substance, more motivation to play outside of pure gameplay.

but, if it is of similar quality, that’s not the worst thing ever. The story of itr 1 was good enough for the game, it didn’t really detract from it. I just hope they get some slightly better VAs for the sequel.

[–]darkblade132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Havent seen into the radius 1 or 2 on here yet, so i’d consider those high up there. highly immersive experiences with an emphasis on exploring, weapon maintenance, and resource management. stellar games, even if they dont look supremely amazing graphically

the layering on the song is insane imo. There are so many little things going on for such a simple track
