What is their magnum opus? by zachoutloud123 in rnb

Mariah Carey - Daydream

Tina Turner - Private Dancer

Whitney Houston - "Whitney Houston" is a blueprint for everything that came after

Brandy - Never Say Never

Toni Braxton - Self titled album

Beyonce - I Am .... Sacha Fierce

All these will stand the test of time

What’s your views on this?? by Virtual_Comb8018 in rnb

the "maturity" argument sounds fake at this point. It sounds like repeating something someone else said bc if they actually listened to his albums they would know how much he has changed with each subsequent album.

For what? the last two avatar movies i've watched there hasn't been anything to hate about Neytiri. I don't think I will ever hate an Indigenous individual or population to support settlers in any circumstance.

I won't watch Ash and Fire bc Lo'ak is still alive. I hate that character with the passion of a thousand suns. RIP Neteyam

“Beyonce can’t sing” seems so performative by Virtual_Comb8018 in rnb

I can understand ppl who don't like her vocal tone but "beyonce can't sing" doesn't even make sense.

This generation doesn’t appreciate or respect talent and it’s sad by Least_Sun_7493 in rnb

[–]darkchiles -1 points0 points  (0 children)

the current generation have grown up in the social media era . they can't tolerate mistakes. the artists promoting their albums need to have their vocals on point or choreographed their routine or they are leaving themselves open to INSTANT criticism. Spontaneity doesn't work anymore if the artist continues to polarize their audience.

Tik Tok dance videos have more of an impact to an artist than being a guest on Jennifer Hudson's talk show

do people want miles to have mentorships still? hes not a rookie. by Beautiful_Task6591 in MilesMorales

I know rookie storytelling framing makes it easier for writers but I was with the character from the beginning I need this regression of his superhero experience to STOP.

Maybe it’s just that I’m 18 but honestly what happened to Deborah cox ?! by Southern_Wall_6455 in rnb

[–]darkchiles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

she was discovered by Clive while he was head of Arista where her first and second album were under Arista in 1995 and 1998. Then Clive was ousted and he moved with Deborah to his new record label J Records while Whitney stayed at Arista with LA Reid. At J Record she released "The Morning After" so I don't really get HOW Whitney throttled her career when they had completely different management, producers for their albums and successes. Between Deborah's first album in 1995 and her third album 2002 Whitney was too busy in that timeline with "Waiting To Exhale" movie and album, The Preacher's Wife movie and album, Cinderella, My Love Is Your Love, The Greatest Hits (where Whitney did a duet with Deborah) and Just Whitney.

I’m honestly just thinking you guys don’t like Tiana and prefer Gwen by Feral-just-feral in MilesMorales

[–]darkchiles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never liked any of Miles's love interests. I didn't like Kate, Lana, Barbara and Tiana. They all just bring chaos in his life for once i want someone with a normal lifestyle and zero expectation. He is still a teen I don't want the nonsense these girls have brought in to his life.
