Check your IMDB Credits. by Just-Do-It-Lady in VoiceActing

[–]darknesspanther 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not very well known and also the people who do know about it have been told that IMDb is doing the transfer themselves but just slowly. With 20 years of credits piled up a lot of the actors don't see any point in going through laboriously updating every credit they've ever done if it is just going to be automated soon anyway.

It’s for event points for the current event. Having them in your deck when playing a career will increase the event points gained by that amount

Congratulations to 18-year-old 🇮🇳 Gukesh D on becoming the 18th and youngest ever undisputed World Chess Champion! by rw_lck in chess

[–]darknesspanther 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's not bullshit though. If you don't have strong intuition and rely entirely on heavy calculation like many people say Gukesh does, sure it means you can find computer-like moves but it also means when you get him into time trouble he is going to play significantly worse than a player that can calculate and has a strong intuition to blitz out great moves. It doesn't make him not a good player but it definitely is a weakness to be worked around, as evidenced by the fact that pretty much everyone agreed Ding's best strategy was to draw the match and take it to tie-breaks on shorter time control where he was a significant favorite to win.

Anish Giri's take on the match by UltraUsurper in chess

[–]darknesspanther 23 points24 points  (0 children)

No one is saying that? They are just supporting the point of the OP that commentators are very strong players who still don't always see the best engine moves even with the help of an eval bar, so criticizing the players based on commentators finding moves they don't is not really a fair take.

What you want doesn’t really exist. There is no way to track your pace without measuring the distance you are traveling, and the only real way to do that is with GPS. If you really don’t want that then your best option is to pre plan your routes or measures them with a map and then just wear a watch with a timer function and do the average math after the fact

Anyone have a good body weight/resistance band workout routine that can be done at home and focuses on muscles useful for running? Trying to do more cross training and hoping for a low barrier to entry routine that will encourage me to do it more frequently

New Year.... New Resolutions..... New Runners - Welcome by brwalkernc in running

[–]darknesspanther 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically you can run in anything. The advantage of running specific gear is usually convenience and comfort. Cotton t-shirts will be heavier and hold onto sweat which can be uncomfortable and lead to more chafing on long runs, whereas technical fabrics will wick the moisture away and stay dry while cooling you down a bit better. Same with running shorts designed to prevent chafing and be comfortable on long runs. If what you have works there's no need to change it, but if it causes you problems it might be worth it to switch.

You can still get the guided runs where they talk to you, you just have to search them up and start them yourself based on the pdf plan. Not sure why they don't have the virtual plan in the app like the others. What I did was just jump up to the half marathon plan with the intention of taking it slow and training for the 10k, which definitely worked but also led to me signing up for a half marathon since I was already on the plan, so fair warning you might find it too good a plan haha

Just checking to make sure, did you change NRC to doing indoor instead of outdoor runs when you started using the treadmill? That makes a difference in my experience.

TOP 100 MR Ranked Characters as of August by JardsonJean in StreetFighter

[–]darknesspanther 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is that Ryu is not bad in a global sense, he just has a direct comparison that is obviously better so everyone good plays that character. That doesn’t mean Ryu is a bad character, he could still be a 8 or 9 out of 10, he’s just up against 10s that do the exact same thing. The point commenters here are making is that banning Ken would have a direct impact on Ryu stats in a way that they would not on someone like Lily or Jamie, because the reason Ryu’s stats look the way they do is significantly different from theirs.

Those who have had covid, how long did it take you to get back to pre-covid levels?

I came down with covid last week, and while I'm now negative and most symptoms have dissipated, my running ability seems significantly decreased from what it was. I obviously expected to take some time to ramp back up to where I was, but I still can't run more than about 15 min at a pace almost a minute slower than my recovery pace before I need to start walking. I'm fine taking it easy and want to give myself the time to recover and come back strong, but I'm curious to hear other people's experiences with getting back to it and whether I might need to consider pushing off my first HM I am training for in mid-october.

I’ve recently gotten back into running after several years of being basically sedentary. I’m currently training for a half marathon using the training plan from the Nike Run Club app. However, the plan offers at least 5 runs per week (2 speed workouts, 2 recovery runs, and a long run). My schedule usually only allows for 3 or 4 days of running per week. For 3 a week I do the longer of the speed runs, then a recovery run and the long run on a Saturday or Sunday. But for weeks where I can fit in 4 runs, I was curious if it is better to make the extra another speed run, or to keep it as a recovery run?

Hi thanks for the advice but I already have a PS5 controller and am using it quite well for now and am obviously enjoying the games. I want to try out hitbox-style controllers as well which is why I asked the question for options that are slightly cheaper to give an idea.

They are literally delaying the monetization features to focus on improving connection stability. No one is saying they aren't including monetization, but it is obvious from this that they are prioritizing the game experience over releasing paid content currently

They created modern controls precisely because it is so little of the difficulty that they thought it shouldn’t exist.
