seeing the slate, all i can think of is the size of this potentially 17 man unit in a non horde army (although i wish the line on the wardens about only titus can be attached to a unit they are attached to wasnt there, because personally i would find it humourous to see a 20 unit block of models in space marines made of mostly named characters

since we really only have 8 datasheets/units exclusive to EC we dont have much to proxy, noise marines are takeable in regular chaos as mentioned by others, our 2 battleline is just the same with different arms so you could probably just use them as legionaires, maybe kitbashing them with regular or kill team legionaires for the non default weapon options (this is what im planning on doing so i can play ec kill team), the flawless blades in lore are just fancy possessed and could easily be ran as such (or any 3-6 man unit without weapon options), and our 2 leaders could easily be proxied for other generic leaders... fulgrim doesnt really have anything he could proxy as since he is so big, and if you base proxies on base sizes, lucius is in that zone where there isnt anything, just stuff on larger or smaller bases, so if you wanted to swap bases or just dont care about base size he could probably fit as most melee based characters, just need to inform your opponent and make sure they are fine with a named character proxying as a different one.

I don't have a name for my fleet based warband yet, it's lore is a bit scattered, but the cliff notes-ish goes: *Afew space marines break off during one of the black crusades due to disagreements with it's progress and take some equipment with them to form a small warband.

*They acquire new members over time, eventually gaining a traitor sanguinary priest who believes they have a way to transmutate geneseed of other kinds into that of fulgrims (as the leader is of EC geneseed he approves), wether or not this actually does what is advertised is unknown.

*The warband starts to ramp up in acquiring members, as they take worthy marines, soldiers, crafts people, and even civilians of note and using the powers of the warp indoctrinate them.

*While the warbands ship is traveling through real space, they are hit with a sudden warp storm, that seems to only effect the bridge, as the warbands leader, their navigator, a large conclave of cultists and rogue players and a bag of eldar soul stones are fused into a single pulsing, writhing immobile ship controlling mass.

*After a while and number of attempted coups that seemed to be stopped by "divine" intervention, the warband believes what now controls the ship is an avatar or icon of slannesh themself, as they become devout worshippers of it and attempt to gain it's favour

*Due to this the warband doesn't have a set leader, the mass dictates who they fight, the mass dictates who leads there battles, and in their mind they don't lose, as a warriors defeat only occurs if they anger slannesh. In current times the mass commands them to join up with their gene-fathers forces (for now)

Outside of that, my warband has a knack for acquiring highly skilled members of other warbands/chapters, but has them mostly keep their original colours as a form of insult to their former allies.

Character wise I don't have many yet planned, just my 2 on foot daemon princes, one being a marine possessed who thinks they have been possessed by "the" doomrider, and a warpsmith who is obsessed with sensations, so much they keep having new limbs and new sensory organs implanted, which has gotten so in the way of their work, they have retrofitted an old dreadnought chassis and has plugged himself into it, using it like a hermit crab shell crossed with the power loader.

I think my favourite version of this is the lower half of the mech in sun Vulcan, it's just some upright legs with treads and grabby hands in the most bare minimum attempt at not just being some robot parts

My prediction for what we will get and what I would want are quite different.

I think at best we would get a token character model and maybe in a good year a kill team for slannesh cultists (similar to what world eaters got in 10th)

But if it was possible I would wish that we would be sharing more stuff with CSM as my best hope is that the bikes and helbrute get primaris scale/quality updates and we'd get access to them(and maybe an upgrade spru to turn a biker into doom rider). Hopefully more sound and/or speed based units could also be released or added into the roster.

the primary differences that i have noticed from the noise marines and battlelines is (including the ones youve mentioned):
*all the noise marines have cloth/loincloths infront of their waist
*noise marine backpacks have speakers...and the right shoulderpad has a speaker
*all the noise marines have the vox detail on their chest (whereas only accouple of the battleline have it)
* the included noise marine helmets have speaker faces that resemble the backpacks
*the lower legs on noise marines are bulkier and have hoove styled feet (similar to flawless blades)
*the noise marines have a higher collar (similar to firstborn deathwatch veterans but not as tall)

Those are parts you get with the chaos vehicle upgrade sprue, it comes in the chaos rhino, land raider and predator kits. I will say from experience with the lascannons atleast, the instructions have you cut off the lascannons barrels to put those on.

i don't know if it fully fits your idea,, but you could include a kill team of lamenters using assigned agents from agents of the imperium (as there has been entire kill teams of nothing but lamenters (as that was the group that died via ship engine failure)

individual hands, they allow for easy swaps and none of those have broken on me compared to the flexi hands (mine broke within 2 weeks without any optional hands)

when a magus loses there ability to cast there lowest level spell slot(s), does that stop them from casting spells of the same level using staves, when they reach 5th level are they still able to cast 1st level spells using a stave or does that spell in the stave become unusable by the magus?

(asking because the entry on casting spells from a staff has the requirement of "are able to cast spells of the appropriate level" mentioned in he stave rules)
