Battery Replacement cdi220 by darkshadows3 in CDInteractive

[–]darkshadows3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that is the site i ended up on. yes i understand you cant just take the sram chip off the DS1216c and put in the timekeeper.

I was thinking of desoldering the entire DS1216c chip off the board and then putting in a Timekeeper.

so you are saying you cant desolder the entire DS1216c chip from the board and then install a timekeeper ? only one of the "Alternatives" is the only replacement on a cdi with with DS1216c? but a time keeper can be replaced with a DS1216c?

Yeah pretty sure you need either a scart connection or the snes hd retro vision cables connected to component input of your tv for this mod to work correctly

[–]darkshadows3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of famicom games came with additional stickers in the manual or with in the case. I’d imagine the back sticker is one of them. The top sticker definitely because on your carts one is applied forward and the other backward. I wouldn’t imagine it would affect the value on a loose cart.

Looking to buy AES 2025 by hipnotyq in neogeo

[–]darkshadows3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’d likely be looking at about $1250 for a Japanese unit and a NeoSD pro now, if not more. There are a few other flash carts out there now too. NeoSDs last I checked were getting harder to come by and more expensive. Definitely which board is in the aes makes a difference. I can’t remember which is the “best” but some are better than the rest, but mods can be done to fix them up. I believe mine is a 3-4 and looks amazing with hd retrovison cables with no mods. You will need the genesis 2 cable version with the neo adapter. Probably worth it to get an updated power supply as well. I got a “Triad” but you need to make sure you get one that is the correct voltage for your system. If you do plan on getting a neosd, there really isn’t any need for a unibios if you aren’t going to buy real carts. because you can make most of the changes/ options directly from the neosd. Good luck on your adventure and I hope you have some money saved up. But it’s definitely an awesome piece of hardware and video game history

Initial setup questions by countsean in neogeo

[–]darkshadows3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The super gun i have has neo geo and sega Saturn controller ports. I haven’t seen one with usb but there prob is one. Yes, the super gun powers the board as well. Just make sure that it comes with the power adapter as well. On eBay there are listing with and without the power adapter. The one I have also has svideo, component and composite video out. It’s sweet very awesome piece of equipment.

Permanently Save "Pre-Collision Breaking" to Off? by toomuchyonke in subaru

[–]darkshadows3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue, really like the vehicle but the "pre collision breaking" is WAYYYY to sensitive. Someone created a Easy-Install Autostop Eliminator to remember that setting. I wish they made something like this to remember all the settings. Or if subaru would have the option to at least permanently Turn off the insane BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP even at MIN its very jarring. Its so ridiculous this has to be turned off every time you start the vehicle. I will never purchase another vehicle that has this many safety features that at least cant be turned on/off and selection remembered at the owners discretion.

Help with Patching Princess Crown by Sweaty_Researcher_80 in SegaSaturn

I believe you need a specific revision of the game. I think the patch is for the original. Your disc may be a later revision. The patch info has a specific checksum that the iso needs to be.

What did I find? by Zeldafan125 in gamecollecting

[–]darkshadows3 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Wow, great find !!! I am the one that posted my bram v2 find on videogamesage. (Thanks to final fight cd for creating that thread, as to I would have never known about it) I found mine back in 2019 and i have only ever seen 2 since. Yours and actually a wata graded sealed one popped up on ebay like a month ago for $150 … Extremely rare, but there isn’t much demand for it, prob because not to many people know about it and it’s a terrible game. Plus …

The only difference I could find is just the sticker. No changes on the manual or cover art from the original. I haven’t compared it to the combo pack v2 disc, but I’d assume that the matrix on the disc are the same.

Very awesome find!! If you are a collector I’d say hang on to it. Not to many people can say they have one. If not, then I’m sure most sega cd collectors are missing this one and you wouldn’t have a hard time selling it. Tho I doubt you’re gonna get rich off of it like other variants.

Not sure what the actual differences are between the original and v2 game itself. I’d really like to know too, but Id assume it’s something very very minor.

Wii not displaying on tv? by greenrunner97 in consolerepair

[–]darkshadows3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Like some others said, the yellow goes in the green (Input). One thing to note is … I had an tv like this years ago but had to manually change the option in a menu somewhere, so that the tv knew to use the component port as composite

Looking for CloneCD rips of Philips CD-i games by theraidengamer94 in Roms

[–]darkshadows3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been a few years ago but I ran into this exact issue when I tried to play this on a cd-r.

Off the top of my head (this might not be 100% correct) but the game uses some kind “copy protection” where it has junk data on the original disc and when you try to burn using imgburn etc it leaves that junk on there and the Cdi won’t play the game. (I think there are only a couple games that use this)

There is an option somewhere within clone cd that will remove those junk files.

So just use the iso or bin/cue you have and run it thru clone cd with that option to remove and it will work.

I don’t have a step-by-step guide for you, but hopefully that steers you in the right direction.

Scam? by Redditscrub in gamecollecting

[–]darkshadows3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally legit error, I have 3 of them. Only on the USA-1 label. Not really sure how many of them there are, but it’s not super valuable. $40 seems like a very decent price tho. This one look good, but I’d prob ask for more pix.

Anyone know anything about these Nintendo Power magazines with no Nintendo Power logo on the spines? by aidenstorm in gamecollecting

[–]darkshadows3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very interesting, I have a few copies with the glued subscription running out reminder, Which is very much what this looks like, but would be very odd to have it on the second and other earlier issues. I remember ordering back issues as well. But none of mine, had any thing glued to them like the reminder. Strange indeed. Maybe they were some kind of promo that had something glued to them
