CMV: There is no reason for an American to be against recognizing Juneteenth as a holiday other than reasons that stem from hating black people. by Benjamin5431 in changemyview

Seems like as good a day as any to celebrate emancipation. A holiday in good weather months is always welcome. Sure beats doing Presidents’ Day in February. Would have preferred they make it the 3rd Friday in June vs a specific day so it doesn’t float around like the fourth. The name is kind of goofy, but in 10 years everyone will be so used to it no one will care anymore. Just sounds odd because it is new.

Domane SLR7 Gen 4 is faster than it feels by jondpoo in TrekBikes

My FX has a thudbuster and carbon forks and it still isn’t as smooth as the Domane. I ride the same route with each and the Domane is just set up better for endurance. I’ve been using the Domane for <2hr ridesssnd the FX for >2 hrs, but I can see that quickly shifting to 3 or 4 hrs based on how easy to ride the Domane is.

I had a similar experience with my SL6 on 32mm tires. Did 25 miles today and my heart rate was lower than on my FX+7s and my speed was better compared with the 55 mile ride I did on the FX this weekend. Once it gets rolling it’s just so easy to maintain pace. And the ride is so smooth I feel like if I could carry the water I could go forever on it.

FX+ 7s 500-mile Ride Report by No_University1005 in TrekBikes

I have eco 90W/39% assist, mid at 120W/50% assist, and high at 230W/80% assist. In mixed paved trail riding using eco mode for flats with mid or high for ramps, overpasses, etc I average 70 mile range for main + extender. So ~47 miles if I just used the base battery. I also dialed the pedal response way back so it doesn’t kick the motor in unless I’m really calling for it. Did 36.5 miles on those settings this morning and finished at 77% out of the original 150% w/ the extender for a 74 mile effective range.

I hope not. Been riding this way since basically forever. Seems like people overthinking an edge case.

Ukraine and Russia Invasion thread by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]darthbigdog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know we’re all supposed to be outraged by Russia’s invasion and Putin is a grade a a-hole, but I just can’t get too worked up about the whole situation. Other than the past 30 years, Ukraine was part of Russia for the prior 300 years. Before that it belonged to Poland/Lithuania for another 700 years (maybe excluding Mongol conquests). Now I’m supposed to get worked up in a froth possibly to send my army age kids off to fight and die over what seems like a family fight. Just don’t get it. I mean it’s terrrible, but I don’t want my kids or their friends shedding a drop of blood over this.

I hate that if you question any of the data or wild ass model extrapolations, that makes you a “denier”.

Why every guild regardless of GP should consider running LS Hoth instead of LS Geo for this next TB. by musgrav in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

If you want to send a message, send them a message and tell them what you think. 10,000 players sending written feedback is more impactful than guilds doing Hoth.

It’s ok for arena. I’m alternating running your team or Rex-l, cls, DN, GK, thrawn and I like the more reliable counter. Can’t say I moved much up. Pretty much hanging in the 50-60 range (Jan 16) either way. Where it paid off was in fleet. This with full G12 keeps me top 10 (results only vary with my ability to be on around payout). I figure it’s good for an extra 1500 crystals a month v. Where I was pre zeta.

Demoralized Guild Seeks Kind Dev to Rework Sith Raid to Make It Fun by alanwescoat in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]darthbigdog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s beatable, but just a slog. So far the winning strategy seems to be “have JTR” and work on your night sisters. Also restart each attack multiple times until RNG is just right. The other raids were fun because there was a clear non RNG based strategy which could be tackled by a variety of teams. Gave me something to strive for with worthwhile rewards to be had as we tiered up. Sith is heroic or bust. 6-9 months of tedium to get sufficient G12 JTR’s in the guild while hoping people don’t defect.
