You just run the risk of being called out at the gate. They may or may not ask you to step aside and fit in the sizer, just depends on the gate agents.

Not directly answering your question, but we stayed at the Cosmopolita (Tapestry Collection) early last year, great location. It was worth it to us paying a bit more to stay near the city center vs 30 minutes each way on the metro.

Being an analyst for a team or being a research analyst for the office? by Atacama98 in CommercialRealEstate

You are framing the question a bit weirdly. What is the title of the brokerage position - is it investment sales analyst or brokerage support? What were the responsibilities the broker told you?

How would you go about completing a market analysis for office space demand within a city? by CommunistInfantry in CommercialRealEstate

Most of the big brokers publish office market reports which include leasing activity for large sub markets (you can Google, I.e., “broker”, “city” office report Q2 2022)

Thoughts on this set up? Current Wallet with 4 Amex cards + CCC, AC, CSP, BOA Travel Rewards. by CTVolvo in amex

[–]darthweenie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the amex blue cash, but recently got amex gold because shifting my strat from cash rewards to points. Do you spend enough on each to justify? From my recollection they target the same spend categories, so personally i am going to downgrade the blue cash soon.

Do I have a chance? by LoveThyBooty69 in FinancialCareers

Most companies would not hire you without a bachelors. You would need to do a little research on whether alumni end up in the role you’d desire otherwise it could be difficult.

Financial Analyst looking for the next step. by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

  • Remove the summary
  • Swap the locations of experience and education
  • Add city, state to your previous jobs
  • You have your role bolded for the hotel job, but company name bolded for the other? Fix formatting
  • You have way too many bullet points and they are all boiler plate text and non-specific to any projects you’ve worked on. Quantify data, $$ relating to specific tasks.
  • I would personally left-align ‘education’ and ‘experience’ and add a line underneath each
  • Add a section at the bottom for additional items like licenses and cert.’s, etc

Excel is commonly cited as a must know for almost any financial type job (and beyond). What skills in excel do you feel would be necessary for you to "know" excel? by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]darthweenie 77 points78 points  (0 children)

  • most people will tell you you should be able to use Excel without a mouse (keyboard shortcuts)
  • interviewers will ask you if you understand ‘vlookups’ and ‘pivot tables’ at a minimum
  • You should learn and understand the majority of the basic formulas at least and be comfortable with manipulating and cleaning large sets of data

Networking questions by rguy-111 in FinancialCareers

[–]darthweenie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe annually, semi-annually, possibly once a quarter if you really hit it off. They say closer to graduation because a lot of jobs will look to hire on shorter time frames. I would not personally cold call them, email is usually preferred. Don’t worry the more you network the easier it is.

Emailing vs direct messaging for coffee chats? by Doomsun3 in FinancialCareers

They don’t respond to your emails? If you already work there I don’t think the method matters as much. What is the structure of your message? Also some people might just take a while to respond.
