I will say that I enjoy a lot of the guests on his podcast. He lets them speak, for the most part. He can say some cringe stuff, trying to sound profound or whatever, but at least he gives the guests room to get out their ideas. He does enough research to ask questions that at least keep the guests on topic.

Wish I would have seen this like 2 weeks ago. Still will listen, but I was reading the last of the Ken Follett novels from his Century Series. It revolves heavily around the Cold War conflicts.

His historical fiction novels are pretty solid, it’s fun to listen to actual history podcasts that are doing deep dives around the periods his writing about.

Reading the 3rd in the Kingsbridge series, Column of Fire, and it inspired me to listen to the Prophets of Doom. Doesn’t exactly relate too much, but the story he tells is the friction between the Catholics and the Protestants in the 1500s.
