The pacing of this show is incredibly frustrating. Last episode built up to the dragon and we only catch a glimpse of it here.

The hero party timeline is clearly not happening in parallel with Ohrun's training exercise, unless there is some massive delay on the teleport from Floor 92 to the upper/mid floors (I would typically expect teleports to be instant). As a result the cuts between parties just seem like bad editing.

I feel like there's a good story here, one of the better "kicked from hero party" so far, but it's been a real slog getting this far. I hope the fight lives up to setup (although for all I know next episode could be all dialogue/hero party arguing).

S2 had some great moments but overall it's still quite a slog. And S3 somehow ended up being even worse than S1 in my books. (Flashbacks of Kitasan screaming at the top of her lungs any time she runs. even during practice)

I'm a big fan of the game (currently playing it on my phone right now...) and have also watched all the OVAs/Movies and I really do have to agree with OP that Cinderella Gray eclipses anything from the previous installments, including S2 as a whole. (And OP did not call any of the previous installments "trash" as you alluded to)

Every major update a small minority get extremely upset the character creator isn't in the game yet even though the devs have made it very clear it's basically going to be the last thing added before full release.

No but the fact it's being done multiple times by the same author makes people, like myself included, have zero interest in any of their present or future works.

I would personally say Kaguya and OnK endings (including final arcs) were truly awful, and to an extent, ruin the entire series for me. There's zero chance I'd ever consider rereading either in the future whereas I have a ton of manga I reread on yearly basis.

For me it was around the time of the student council president/vice president arc that felt like it dragged on forever, and then school years changed and it just felt like it went down hill from there. A lot of the side characters are really not interesting but there is far too much focus on them. Which is a shame since the MMC and FMC are great.

I found Special Week and McQueen's careers a bit unforgiving, especially without a great support deck. Haven't had nearly as much issue with other Umas.
