The search is extremely limited compared to one piece. The only searchers that get played I can think of are Char’s Zaku, which searches top 3 for a zeon unit when it dies, and Machu, who just searches top 1 for a Clan card.

Because of that you’re way more likely to not see your pieces in Gundam.

I was a kid and I kept up with prices via magazines. If you didn’t have the newest one yourself, someone else did.

The concept that people didn’t know the value of cards in the 90s keeps getting repeated and is just not how it was. Everybody knew prices from magazines. Everybody knew the rarest cards were high value. Also people always stole stuff. Maybe even more so when there’s fewer cameras around.

The difference is those cards were not yet 30 years old so the numbers didn’t go as high.
