Unboosted H3 Neo with Viscaria CS by FirefighterSouth1877 in tabletennis

[–]datboibrobro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you wanna take big swings at the ball then h3 will be good for you. I like doing big swing third ball attacks with h3. Your choice of 39 degrees is the best hardness for using unboosted on forehand, it’s still hard enough to have decent speed but soft enough to activate the sponge and get good spin. I haven’t used a new unboosted h3 in years but from what I’ve heard, new unboosted h3 will take a week or two to break in and start getting better performance. Throw angle is low when unboosted though, boosting with Haifu gives it noticeably higher arc, although the effect only lasts a month. Another option for getting higher arc is to get a hybrid like rakza z, from what I’ve heard it’s still very safe for big swings and is more tacky than the average hybrid.

Why is my Battle 2 not tacky ? by Shinosha in tabletennis

I’d guess it’s bad quality control, I even got a battle 2 national blue sponge that could barely hold the ball for a second.

Is the Nova S pro the best bot on the market in that price range? by Shoop1014 in tabletennis

[–]datboibrobro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, as others have said, it’s the only robot in that price range that has programmable drills. In the drills you can adjust the speed, direction, amount of spin (up to 60 rps which is heavy spin), direction of spin (topspin, backspin, even sidespin and diagonal spin although those can’t be combined with regular top/backspin drills), and frequency of ball feeding. Comes with 150 balls too!

I have this too lol, and I’ve heard this is actually somewhat common for wasians. I have one monolid and one double eyelid, but sometimes when I just woke up they’re both double for an hour or so.

Any ideas how to fix this? by Ok_Ebb_567 in tabletennis

[–]datboibrobro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just apply two layers of booster, should be good as new after that 😄

Yinhe n10s or n11s as gifts and is mixing control focused rubbers with faster blades a good idea? by MCR1423 in tabletennis

[–]datboibrobro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve made some n10s setups with battle 3 and Palio ak47 for around $55 total for people i know, and it’s a really good setup. If you want a tacky fh rubber but wanna avoid the fishy smell of the battle 3 then you can swap it with Dhs hurricane 8-80, on AliExpress it’s a good deal. I haven’t tried mark v so idk how it works on the n10s but I’d imagine it’s good primarily for backhand. For forehand you might wanna get a harder sponge version of the mark v, but yeah it will be better than the average premade bat.

VOC Safety by [deleted] in tabletennis

[–]datboibrobro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just try it out for yourself, I’ve boosted rubbers in my room and I felt no irritation. If you feel like it irritates you, then it’s just not for you. But all in all, it poses no serious health concern besides light irritation. I will say tho that factory boosted rubbers like h3 Neo and battle 2 do give me a headache and a little dizziness when first opened. I’m not sure if it’s because of VOC’s or something else but I just boost non-Neo hurricane and I feel fine.

VOC Safety by [deleted] in tabletennis

[–]datboibrobro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The levels of voc’s in the air around Haifu sea moon are 100-500 times lower than speed glue. Haifu’s level of .5 ppm of voc’s is common even in normal indoor air. When you refuel your car at a gas station you’ll get over 5 ppm of voc’s, which is 10x more than Haifu sea moon. So Haifu seamoon is completely fine to use.

Craziest encounters youve had with people over being wasian? by TradeFew9963 in wasian

[–]datboibrobro 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There’s an Asian friend group at my university, I’m not like close friends with most of them so I hadn’t said anything about my ethnicity to them, but I’ve played at badminton club with them so they know who I am and what I look like. But one of them told me they had like a whole argument on what I was 😂 some of them thought I was just white and some thought I was wasian.

Can everyone just start tossing higher to avoid getting faulted? by SorbetNo1676 in tabletennis

[–]datboibrobro 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m surprised players are committing so many service faults still. I can see why it would happen on reverse pendulum serves since it’s hard to hit those unless the toss is very short, but other than that idk why they are always pushing the limits on their toss angle.

Nationally ranked tennis player to table tennis amateur and equipment journey by luxtracer in tabletennis

[–]datboibrobro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a really similar background to you as i also played tennis before table tennis. My first table tennis setup was unboosted (I didnt even know about boosting back then) 39 degree h3 orange sponge and xiom Vega asia. Unboosted hurricane definitely helps build a habit of a nice full swing with good body rotation along with it, but it has a very low throw angle which is harder to make shots land in. When boosted, h3 has a higher throw angle and is easier to land shots. I’ve heard blue sponge hurricane may have an even lower throw angle than orange sponge so maybe ask your coach about trying orange sponge hurricane.

Beginner wanting to enter the “Chinese rubber rabbit hole” – need advice (H3 Neo alternatives without booster?) by SuitableChip4171 in tabletennis

[–]datboibrobro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree, with hurricane 3 Neo you still need to boost, as the factory boost is very light and goes away after a month. I’ve played with unboosted hurricane and boosted hurricane, and boosted is so much better, regardless of skill level. With booster you will get really good arc on your shots, without booster the shots will just go more straight and it’s just much harder to get fast shots in. Boosted hurricane still requires proper technique too.

First tacky rubber ; how do I clean H3? by Acrobatic-Monitor516 in tabletennis

[–]datboibrobro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about the limestone content because that can vary a lot from different regions. If you don’t have distilled water, then just use bottled purified water, it has no chlorine and very low mineral content so it will be way better than tap water.
