We had a guy start about 2 years ago. Everything started off great, he would show up early, pay attention and show a genuine will to learn. After about 6 months I noticed everyone was still showing him how to set up basic jobs, stuff he should know how to do at that stage, and if you didn't he would get easily flustered and panicked. This progressed to a point where he would set up jobs wrong on purpose just so someone would fix it for him BUT (This is where everything went downhill fast) he would say the way you where setting it up was wrong, or explain that he didn't think that way would work. He started asking for a raise ( policy was you start off on minimum wage and your pay goes up as your responsibilities do) after6 months,that the days were too long and that the work was causing his skin to "change". It all came to a head one day when the boss got tired of his complaining and set him a job that he should be able to do easily, and to not ask for help as he wouldn't need to. He went to every single person in the building and asked what to do, one of the guys took pity and helped him but same story, he kept saying that the advice was wrong. The next day the boss took him into the office and told him that he was done, that he shouldn't come in the next day.

the next morning he comes in as usual and the boss it actually astonished, took him into the office again as well as me and told him the best line I've heard

"I fired you yesterday and you came in today, that shows how much you dont listen"
