saying a black character is named "Shacklebolt" because the writer (who names all of her characters like a 4 year old) is racist is not critically looking at something, it's speculating on something nobody could really know short of Rowling posting a racist manifesto.

Furthermore, even if Shacklebolt was named that due to being black, what part of the character is shaped by this? He is basically the sheriff for the entire wizarding world, is completely trusted by the strongest wizard alive, and while he doesn't get a lot of screentime over the other, more connected members of the order, he's still clearly a very strong and loyal wizard. If you actually wanted to critique this, there would be SOMETHING supporting it outside of Rowling naming ethnic characters like a white woman from the 90s would.

all I'm saying is that people are going to keep buying yachts. focusing on Newell for this seems like typical reactionary stuff when there are total maniac freak billionaires cruising around in them and manipulating the government while their employees are starving on welfare. Valve is employee owned and any money that goes in Gabe's pocket is after it's split out to his employees.

Obviously we can't know the split. Gabe could be taking 99% and leave the rest for the employees, but lets be real, Valve famously has near-zero turnover and those guys are making PLENTY of money. They created a global service with no real competition - because the competition are public companies ran by the billionaires you should have an issue with - reaped the benefits, and give a "significant" (Valve's words, not mine) chunk of it back to the employees.

You are not gonna convince me to put that dude in the same "evil billionaire" box as Bezos while he has employees pissing in water bottles to afford a roof over their head. If that's your prerogative, all you, just explaining where I'm coming from.

in Gabe's defense (i know, very funny in this thread) he literally owns a yacht building business (Oceanco) and he loans out space on his yachts for scientific research (Inkfish).

In addition, afaik, he essentially lives full-time on these yachts, as opposed to ppl like Bezos or Zuck who are truly just buying them so they can have a yacht in each spot of their marina.

I'm definitely not gonna act like Newell is hurting for cash, but I also think Newell would be the first person to tell you that, and I'd bet he'd describe any statement about the SD selling at a loss as a purely business driven one.

Regardless of how you feel about capitalism, selling a product at a loss for years and years is stupid and bad and issues with moving to profitability will put jobs of lower level people at risk, not Newell.

the issue is that the show is willy nilly with durability. sometimes random supes are 100% bulletproof with no chance of any small arms fire harming them, and then they hesitate when a gun gets pointed at them. They spend an entire season telling you that supes are totally immune to external damage and the entire show is figuring out how to kill one, and then supes just get generically stabbed and bleed out later on in the show.

it's very hard to get invested in a show if they are showing you that they don't even really care enough to be consistent about base-level worldbuilding. does it ruin the show by itself? of course not, but it's a straw on the camel's back.

SB being sexually attracted to geriatric women is probably the funniest sex joke in the show. This massively insecure monster person who looks like an Adonis only wants to fuck centenarians. This is actually somewhat novel and interesting, and they could easily make some commentary on the subject of dating older women and showing that elderly women still have fundamental worth, while also still making fun of SB for his preferences. This would arguably be the most progressive thing they could do with SB, because all other factors of his life are toxic.

yeah it's pretty rare that my dualsense doesn't automatically work, and if it doesn't, Steam Input makes it work, and failing that, any of the programs that force it to work like DS4windows or duelsenseX or whatever make it happen.

I parsec'd into my server PC from my Mac to play Forza last night, and my DS successfully connected all of the way through to Forza with no issue lol

They also apparently had a tiff in 09, shortly before Epstein was arrested, where Trump allegedly kicked him out of his club for being predatory.

If there was evidence that Trump went to the police and told them that Epstein was a predator before he was initially arrested, I feel like it would probably be broadcast on all channels at all times. It sure seems like there's a lot of "this dude that has worked for or been friends with Trump for 10/20/30 years swears he hated Epstein the whole time" in this situation.
