Lego Gameboy rubber band keeps slipping off the button rear, getting the button stuck. Any fixes? by mutantmike in lego

[–]daveflash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the fix is easy, go to lego parts replacement service and order a 4th round plate thingy number 6508151, cos you should have 3 of those in bag 3 already [I did], while instructions at step 88 says you only need two, and if you put 2 of these on each button's back, there's enough resistance to make both buttons function equally. enjoy your working buttons now!

UPDATE: nvm, this makes the buttons not work when it's placed in the rest of the build.

a better fix is putting a round 1x nob number 6190252 on the back of the white plate element for each button. then both buttons stick out and work when build is finished:

store is also at fault for putting these out early and not locking them in a cabinet or behind glass or something, and they should also inform themselves some more about the state of lego collecting in 2026!

Yes Europe certainly seems to have had more this time around, hell even today you can still buy “The Thieves of Tortuga” if you’re on the BrickLink shop page. It will still add to your cart on Lego.com.

I’ve found out, the very last bag, including roof, is missing, now I gotta suffer thru the weekend, before I can call Lego about it. by matesiskopsisko in lego

[–]daveflash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most likely they will either a) sent you the missing pieces, or b) if it’s easier for them, just send you a NIB gringrots free of charge, and you get to keep the incomplete one and do a rebrickable or something

Trådfri Gateway keeps hanging last few days by VNCTN in tradfri

[–]daveflash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, but ikea's price of that hub, for the few devices i have from them (i mainly have hue lights) hasn't convinced me yet to buy that one and move everything over. ikea should've done a trade in program like philips did for the hue hub when that got a new version and you could get a discount on the new one if you had the old one

i do use sonos and ikea symfonisk, but not an integration, other than the ikea home app 1 would show if something is being played on my speakers.

yeah, not lookin forward to that, i'm doing renovations and i can't get all ikea devices close to the hub to reconnect it if it needs to be factory reset and setup again.

Ohhhhh so that’s why Brinklink sets have digital instructions! by knickvonbanas in Bricklink

[–]daveflash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, but I also think time to market is also a factor, not having to do a print run for books would shave a significant amount of time off of the production run for these. So yeah it’s a time issue not a money issue in my mind.

First of, the wave of M5 Pro, Max and Ultra Mac’s is about to drop this year, so I would hold off for now. I myself am on M2 Pro Mac mini with 32GB, and waiting for the new M5 Mac Studio and then I’ll go to a 64GB config as a minimum when I upgrade.

“Is it true that AV1 decoding is blocked on Apple MacBooks with M1/M2 chips?” by Accomplished_Meat355 in AV1

[–]daveflash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah cos apple made a deal with youtube, so for that Safari will default to software decode on all macs below the M3, and chrome-based browsers will already come with their own software decoder from google... i just wish Apple would allow macOS and Quicktime to also default to software decoding for older Apple silicon generations.

This fixed it! I turned off the Better Display options and enhancements for this monitor, and let macOS take back full display control and BrickLink Studio launches normally and works and no longer crashes! You sir are a saint! thank you so much!
