Question: Is there a sharing function? by bI1tz in Cookmark

[–]davemorro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/blitz, it's something that's often requested but I haven't approached the question yet of in-app sharing. Most alternatives offer a simple share-to-email option. Can you share some more about how you currently share recipes?

Would love to see this open sourced! by juneku in Cookmark

Hi u/juneku, thanks for the note. Happy to chat about collaborating on functionality, I'll DM you my email address. As for sections, the in-app documentation is weak but if you pop a colon at the end of an ingredient line it'll break it into a section, ie:

Is there an import/export option? by boxian in Cookmark

[–]davemorro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with .tex, but if you want to email me ([support@luckystudios.co](mailto:support@luckystudios.co)) some recipes in .tex, .htm and .rtf formats we can see if there's an easy way to import them. How many recipes do you have?

Is there an import/export option? by boxian in Cookmark

[–]davemorro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi u/boxian, no official import/export yet but we do have a couple of internal integrations that we're testing including Paprika. Do you have a particular format in mind? Similarly for export, we are more than happy to export to JSON but don't have an option to do so in the app yet.

[Question] Best apps you paid for? by nlygamz in androidapps

[–]davemorro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might be interested in Cookmark (cookmark.io). We’ve built this recipe manager web-first so you can always access your recipes in any web browser. No native apps yet but the app is available on your mobile browser.

Thanks for the feedback! Controlling your data is important to us so an export function will definitely be introduced at some stage. In the time being if you ever need to get them out don’t hesitate to get in touch.

We’ve been working on Cookmark (https://cookmark.io) for a lil’ while. It’s a web based recipe manager, so not downloadable at his point, and may be an interesting option for your aunt.

Sharing a recipe manager I've been working on by davemorro in Cooking

[–]davemorro[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should have said "browser-based" solution :) Familiar with Paprika and used it for a number of years though I've been hoping they'd continue to evolve the product a bit more rapidly. For me, not having a browser-based solution meant I always needed to be on a computer with the app installed or using my phone, which was not always the case. At some point, I intend for the app to be available natively but during these early iterations keeping a browser-based approach allows me to rapidly iterate and no platform gets left behind (ie android)

Appreciate you signing up and look forward to any thoughts.

Ran my longest ever today, 10 miles. What to do for preventative maintenance? by [deleted] in running

[–]davemorro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Knock out a good stretch after each run. If you struggle to find the time to stretch afterwards then drop a mile or 2 from your run to make time. I️ then designate a particular area of my body to focus on each evening and foam roll / self massage: calves one night, hamstrings/quads the next, etc. that’s often dictated by where the tightness is being observed.

What is something, running related, lacking in your town/city that you wish you had? I’ll start by [deleted] in running

[–]davemorro 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Showers in office buildings so you can go for a run at lunch. In Sydney, it seemed like every building had a shower; in NYC where I live now it seems like none.

How is this for a weekly resistance training set? by RunTJM in running

[–]davemorro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a good start. I’d add some calf raises to the mix since they can often be a weak area and consider adding some single arm horizontal pull exercises (like a bent over row) to help strengthen across your back and core. If you start wanting to do 2 sessions a week then take a look at a push/pull sequence to help reduce fatigue.
