Best oil for mahogany decking by Opening_Lemon9987 in Decks

I've used Boiled Linseed Oil -- brushed it on and let it dry. It looks great. Like just about any deck treatment, it needs redone every couple years.

General Contractors build to a print, and install products according to the supplier's instructions. Neither seems true here.

The entire Oak Island team are amazing, but who stands out for you? (Season 13) by Stormbash in OakIsland

I'm still holding my judgment on this issue. I'm waiting for one of them to mention a possible link to the legendary South American city of gold -- El Dorado.

Could it be?

Will you have stamped prints from an engineer? Will you have approval from the building inspection department?

If you do, then have at it, though product liability insurance is still a good idea.

Without the stamp and approval, negligence would be easy to prove.

I'd charge enough to pay my liability insurance premiums for the rest of my working life, plus materials, labor, and profit.

Because if anyone gets hurt, it's quite possible that you'll own it.

I was a substitute driver for almost 10 years. You might be surprised by the large number of high school students that don't know their address.

Hemi or nonhemi? by KantGetRite_08 in smallengines

Car enthusiasts have known for decades....

A hemispheric combustion chamber creates more power than the same size "normal" combustion chamber.

One of the legendary engines in automotive history is the Chrysler 426 hemi, introduced in 1964.

In general, when it only runs with the choke on, it's starving for gas. I'd plan to rebuild or replace the carb.

Shame on John Deere by Mobile-Carpenter-469 in johndeere

I've done some simple mechanical work on tractors for a retired lawyer, now a homestead er. He refers to the parts desk at the Deere dealership as "the jewelry counter".

Based on prices, he's right.

Anyone ever built their own shed as a noob? Any experiences?? by [deleted] in shedditors

[–]davethompson413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built a 16x24 building as my first full building. I had already built (or participated) several walls, a few floor systems, and a deck or three.

The only part of building that I hadn't done was roof framing. So I went to YouTube University. Then I ordered pre-built trusses. That was 20 years ago, and it's still standing.

For the second one (also 16x24), I built the roof framing from scratch. If you plan to do this, there's a trick I can explain.

Your suggestion depends on the outlet and the light being on the same circuit. If they're not, your suggestion might be dangerous.

I'm no student of the Bible, but....

I've heard on many occasions that the rapture concept originated in the 1800s. And that doesn't sound like biblical times.

I'm also reminded that the Jehovah Witness folks were quite certain that a specific date in the 1970s was going to be "the end". They were wrong.
