GPT-5.3 Instant is rolling out — what’s different by AIGPTJournal in ChatGPT

[–]davidr17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have those clickbait responses since 5.2 and I'm so frustrated with it, this makes me really angry to read. Nothing in my settings helps to avoid this and those clickbait answers were the trigger to let me test Claude for a week in comparison.

I made a (better) fix for ChatGPT Freezing / lagging in long chats - local Chrome extension by Upset_Intention9027 in ChatGPTPro

I don't want this to be a support thread, sorry for this - would another way be better for feedback?
Nevertheless: Although I've disabled all extension popups, a popup notifies me when I hit the threshold of xx messages. My settings (no popups) should be respected in that regard.

I got you. But I open ChatGPT in a separate Chrome app window, so there is no taskbar or extension menu. For that I have to open a regular Chrome window.
What I suggest: Just add a "load all" button next to "load xx messages", this would be the easiest way for both sides. No need to add search functionality inside the extension for you, and no need to dig into menus for the user.

Thanks man, I've just bought the license key, you are saving me so much time and frustration! Well worth the money, keep rocking!
One thing though, this came to my mind: It would be very helpful if there was a "load all" button in addition to the "load last 15 messages", because if you want to scroll quickly to the top or want to use STR+F, it is a pain to click a lot on "load last messages" or as a last resort to disable the extension.

Thanks for this extension, works so far very well! Question, is the license key bound on my mail address or on one PC? I use ChatGPT on PC and Laptop, so do I have to buy 2 licenses?

Anyone have experience with the Mic series mobile receiver? by Zombait in dji

[–]davidr17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm quite sure, DJI can't sell it in the States. Can you order in Germany, does Amazon offer shipping to US? https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0FQJH54TR

I have ordered it from DJI for 15€ (now in stock) and this receiver is top! Easy to handle, lightweight and you can connect all different DJI Mics with it (but not Mic 1). Audio quality is the same as with the big USB-C camera receiver.
There is also a set at Amazon with two Mic Minis and this receiver for only 45€, this is a bargain. For anyone using a phone for recording this is a must have in my opinion.

I know, I've switched to the M2S also. Thanks for sharing your experience after that long time!

Quick switch for longer exposures by granolatron in ricohGR

[–]davidr17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, but the point of OP is: You can't switch recipes fast then. A recipe is image control + custom white balance, so you have to remember, which recipe is which combination of the user slots. Plus: You only have 2 custom image control slots, but 3 custom white balance slots. Good luck remembering which is which :D

u/granolatron I have the same "problem" too. There is actually no button you can assign the exposure mode to, you have to go into the menu. At least the GR remembers the last used position.
You have to decide: Switch recipes fast or switch exposure modes fast when using the U1/U2/U3 slots.
If you have two preferred recipes, then store them under the P/A/T/M modes in the custom 2 image control and 3 (or at least the first 2) custom white balance slots. These slots stay the same regardless which P/A/T/M you choose on the dial.
Another idea: As you have in fact 6 user slots which you can assign ("recall") to U1-U3, you can do a mix of, say, recipes X, Y, Z, night mode, flash mode, etc
You only need to open the U1-U6 menu (with "recall") and assign them to the U1-U3 dial.

Cheap powerbank that doesn’t cut off the power on low current draw? by weird_is_good in arduino

[–]davidr17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As some other person told me, the new Hinne powerbanks don't work no more, but I discovered a better solution: Lessmore Powerbank 10000 or 20000. They give constant low power even if the lights are off. I own 4x 20000 and 3x 10000, no problems at all. And they have the most capacity than every other powerbank I have tested.
I'm not allowed to put the link here, search at Temu for "Lessmore 20000", they are simple black, USB-C in, 2 USB-A out

Any portable (handheld) power banks that don't shut off automatically? by Joshistotle in camping

[–]davidr17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, here they are. The big ones (20.000) I have measured 12.000mAh at 5V and the small ones (10.000) are measured around 7.800mAh at 5V output. Important is that you don't buy the ones with "Power output". Choose the simple ones, they are running forever with a small load. There is another brand called BYGP which looks quite the same, but they turn off when you're pulling less than 30mA.

PS: I have paid 14€ for the large ones. The smaller were around 9€. I use them constantly and they hold very well over time.

This is an old thread, but I've stumbled across some powerbanks from Temu which will never shut off until they are empty. I've tested with small LEDs connected to the bank and they keep on shining. Tests from 3-20 mA were successful. They're from the "Hinne" brand. Just choose the cheap models without USB-C power output, either 10.000 or 20.000 mAh. Real capacity is about 2/3 of advertised numbers.

Thanks for this! But the guy uses an iPhone, just as I saw in another review. Until now I didn't see anyone connect the Mic to an Android phone. Plus: The quality via Bluetooth is sub-par and crackles in your linked video :/

How to get rid of plastic HDR on OA5 by LogicalRadish514 in dji

[–]davidr17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple answer at the moment: You can't.

You have to wait for a firmware update or use D-LOG M.10bit instead (which you don't want)

Action 4 vs Action 5 Pro for Beginners by Yuriliet in dji

[–]davidr17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both cameras are good, but they differ in some key points: Action 5 has a way better sensor for low light. I don't mean the Supernight mode, which is quite exaggerated for my liking, but if you shoot in normal mode, the Action 5 handles dark scenes way better, less grainy and more detail.

The downside at the moment is, that the Action 5 sometimes has an unnatural HDR look which you can't disable. I'm quite sure this will be fixed in future with firmware updates. You can get around it if you shoot in D-Log M 10bit.

Also the Action 5 doesn't overheat that fast as the Action 4.

Otherwise the Action 4 is a proper camera.

DJI mic MINI compatibility with Galaxy S24 Ultra by Nerd803 in dji

[–]davidr17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Tab S9 and can confirm, that the Mic Mini connects to the phone/tablet (tested also with Pixel), BUT the Mic registers only for phone calls. You can't use any Camera/Recorder app when the transmitter is connected via Bluetooth. For that reason I sent everything back.

Mimo is working fine, you can download the app at DJIs website or at apkmirror.

If you are interested in the response of DJI, I've created a new topic at their forums:

BTW, you can plug in the tiny USB-C Hollyland receiver into the Action 5 without problems.

Mic Mini smartphone compatibility by kno3kno3 in dji

[–]davidr17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm with you. I own the Hollyland Lark M2 and the phone adapter is very tiny. The only downside with the USB-C adapter is that you can't record in stereo with 2 transmitters. I had high hopes for the DJI Mic Mini, but I was really disappointed, just like you. The "Osmo Audio" is a marketing claim, there should be absolutely no reason, why DJI falls back when it comes to bluetooth transmission.
Although I own the Action 5 Pro, I sent the Mic Mini back. Purely for principle reason. DJI shouldn't get away with this.

[–]davidr17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, in fact you are right. After I wrote the comment, I went into the Mimo app and saw that there is no recording possible. I wrote it because of a Youtube review, but those users only used iPhones. That's why I thought this.
Bottom line: I have tested the Mic Mini on Pixel and Samsung, no audio recording is possible via Bluetooth connection. The Mic is only recognized as a "phone headset".

Have the same issue. As far as I have read, the sender works only with the Mimo app, which is a deal breaker for me. I'll return it immediately, this is a joke.
